Reason game died

Everyone rushed through incursions, got a welfare set. Then were told to just raid log. Or you might farm professions for a little upgrade. Economy inflated so everyone that worked hard for their gold were basically stuck the middle finger.

Incursions ruined this game.

Define “died”

Define " dead " . It’s still more alive than classic cata / btw what classical do you guys find in cata is still a mystery but…/

There’s not much to do outside of the game beside the 3 hour daily WSG/STV event and raid log. Dungeons are useless and a stupid reputation farm was added to keep us “busy”.

It’s just retail with a classic skin. There’s no point in 90% of the content, just a stupid rep grind and raid/pvp for an extra 1 for stamina/strength

So, every 3 hours you can do pvp, also like you said, once a week you can raid log, dungeons are useless but still I see Mara 10 man offering run all the time, ppl doing BRD arena runs all the time and rep farm have always been a thing in vanilla.

So lets go back to the “died” part, how did this gamemode die?

That’s because there’s a log out skip for Mara… and because it drops a epic dagger for warlocks.
The reason people also farm that dungeon is for the rune, which is the fastest method than to run BFD/ZF. There’s no point in doing dungeons other than to kill for the rune quest.

That’s precisely the thing with SoD, I thought it was going to make every bit of content relevant again, instead it killed off even more of the world. If dungeon sets are made useful in the future, you can bet people are running all dungeons for loot and to kill bosses again.

Check realm status for a start.

Well, its more or less BIS for all classes, not only warlocks :stuck_out_tongue:

So your expectations make SoD worse? This is the thing with hype and/or expectations, you get dissapointed 96% of the time.

Lets check some data here.

Characters raiding at least once from 24 April 2024 to 30 April 2024
So for all EU server, there is over 84k chars that have been raiding under this date, still it “died”, so I am confused, how did SoD D.I.E.D?

Source:
ironforge. pro/population/sod/?locale=EU

That is most likely less than 25% of active players that cleared it at least once, I do not see how that would be considered to be a success, and that is not even taking into consideration that maybe out of the 25% maybe 10% did it on multiple characters since they’ve had multiple level 50s raid-ready just hours after release.

Ever since p2 people started calling “retail lite” or “season of retail” and the game started losing more and more population, the fact that it DID NOT attract new players and failed to retain most of the ones that had interest in it at the beginning is the biggest fails of them all. Having 84k characters (chars, not accounts!) clear a raid for an entire region cannot be seen as success no matter how you try to spin it.

The OP is one of those, “I don’t play much any more, so the game is dead” people, full of self importance and likes to show everyone that what they think is right and everyone else is wrong.

Likes and self importance, I’m just dreadful of the game I already invested so much time in becoming less and lesser popular over time.

I have played this character and achieved feats like getting exalted with the darkmoon faire, seeing all my gold devalue thanks to this stupid incursion crap, and to top it off my realm is lossing its popularity status to “low”. But you can’t state or claim that the game is dying/dead when you log in and there are only 5 people standing in a capital, your previous guilds have all died and there’s no motive to do any content because devs thought it was such a grand idea to give everyone a welfare set from the get go.

Why don’t you keep you opinion to yourself next time, lot of projection coming from your comment.

Reason people go mara is becouse of dagger and ring. It will be useless in 1 month either way. Point is this is getting Worse every phase. And with cata around the corner , Well rip

Another one not getting my point. Mara have nothing to do with it really, but maybe you can answer then, how did the game “DIE” ?

Another pathetic whine story by Little Johnny Nomates. Please just keep it to yourself in future, leave quietly.

The “gold inflation” were to be expected ,the higher lvl you get the more gold you gonna get ,that how its always been and that how it should be ,and the majority of the gold didn’t even come from incursions but from mages and hunters who can make an absurd amount of gold very efficiently

The most annoying part of sod downfall is that you can’t even blame the devs for it

People were complaining a lot in P2 how there are way too many gold sinks and how slow lvling is ,so blizzard indulge you and now you complain that the game is too easy ?

How?
If you talking about seed farm exploit in ST then you are completely wrong.
This is not a raw gold farm, it is a material farm that causes no inflation.
The thousands of gold they were making came from other players and not out of nothing.

Game is not dead yet. It is shrinking indeed but not dead.

Gnomeregan first boss amount of warlock parses after 4 weeks (=9 raids): 46k
ST first boss amount of warlock parses after 4 weeks: 30k

The “seed” farm is just a small drop in the ocean ,mages can solo mara farm that will land you with crazy amount of gold ,while hunters can pull the entire dungeon

Incursions is the biggest “warcrime” ever to be implemented in wow.
