Reasonable ways to fix archaeology

Hi.

I come to share my opinion about this profession after 800 solves with 0 epics.

The gameplay loop is really boring, is not like cooking or fishing are different or more exciting but they are not required to get pre bis items, that for some people might last longer than just few raids.

Flying around solving 4 races from which you will probably only need 1 or 2 with no guarantee to get your items is plain bad design choice. You have only 4 spawns that also are determined randomly so even the farming is RNG based. Then Fossil rares can’t be completed making EK a real pain to deal with.

I know nobody forces me to do the grind but obviously you want to have a chance to get your items, once cata launches you will have no time to do it probably. And some people like me are willing to the grind but doing what it could take 3 times the time you’ve spent or maybe you will never get along with the time invested is not good for one’s mental health. Seeing people get it beofre 100 solves and other with 2k+ with no epics is ridiculous.

So my idea of how to fix it is simply adding a 0.1% to the chance of the rare you are missing for a race to be the next project after let’s say you hit 300 solves with that race, and then another 0.1% every 25 solves… is it too much? then only 0.001% every 500 solves but AT LEAST IS SOME GUARANTEE TO GET IT without avoiding the grind. Why can’t blizzard to this? They already tuned wotlk ways to get bis items from previous phases like ToC and Ulduar doing gammas that also drop nm raid items.

Hope they are willing to rework the profession a little to at least make it feel that you are progressing torwards something.

There are a lot of topics about this in any region. If there is no response to the next maintenance, consider the forum dead as a form of contact with Blizzard. In-game support has been dead for a long time so wow became kinda ghost game😅

Sadly it seems like this is true, maybe they only listen to rage spam on reddit or @ the developers on twitter.
