Reasons to not bring back master loot

No it wasn’t. Most guilds gave gear to the officers, class leaders and friends on the backs of people who weren’t getting anything.

Unpaid work should be illegal. Raiding and not getting any items for weeks is trash.

No thanks. I don’t want loot council. I’ve seen a Hunter officer get a 100 dps upgrade when the item was a 300 dps upgrade for me, because he was in the guild longer. That’s trash.

Personal Loot all the way.

The benefit is PL is obvious, who is saying ML is better in every way?
as I already said, removal is lazy design and both PL and ML guilds could coexist, heck make it a guild setting which could only changed in between raid release.

Masterloot is better than Personalloot…

People talk about ninjalooting… but in fact, there was rarely ninjalooting.

But you know what we have every raid where we dont outgear the content? Some loot drops and we cant give it to the people that need it because its an ilvl upgrade (but has worse stats than your gear). This happenbs literally in every raid when you progress.

And it would also happen in dungeons when loot wouldnt be so low.

PL fixed something that was abused by an even smaller amount than ML helped the people that wanted to progress. Also I dont get why people that doesnt progress raid even cry about things like loot funnel runs.

Now Progress-guilds no longer cant really work towards gear but have to buy BOE which is not only less fun but also make them to waste a huge amount of money/gold .

Masterloot was also way better simply due to RPG reasons. Rolling/distributing stuff is just better.

i guess personal loot is here to stay for now. knowing blizzard is rather slow i doubt they will come up with an adequate solution anytime soon. :smile:

What I hate the most is that they just flatout removed it for no reason… I mean it could still be optional… but no…

Its just a part of the other bad changes in one of the main systems of the game (for example GCD-Changes)

i mean they said that it used to be optional but caused problems. i personally dont want to see masterloot make a comeback, at least not in the way it used to work. maybe they will come up with something else, who knows.

I’m the worst roller in this game, you roll a 2, i roll a one, so i’d rather not.

Never saw gearing healers or even tanks if the problem isn’t survivability just DPS checks. Tanks early gear but then DPS. In Legion tiers sets were DPS priority as getting DPS up was the key to kill the boss before enrage.

And my guild is progressing HC Denathrius now. No gear on me or other healers will help if the raid group is taking excessive avoidable damage or dies to mechanics.

Like I said ML rarely got abused. I rarely ever saw it and I played on atleast 7-10 different servers and I play since BC.

But when we keep in mind that ninja looting is an abuse of a system we can easily see that it is not the fault of the ML-system.

On the other hand PL is worse by default due to the core system.

I personally dont want them to remove PL… I just want them to add back the superior system.

In every MMORPG I played so far you never… NEVER… upgraded the tanks or heals first.

Progress Raiding is all about DPS checks.

i dunno…i just completely disagree as my experience vastly varies from yours… :sweat_smile:

The guild leader of the current world first guild even talked about it back then, how they always prioritize gearing up dps players, then healers, then tanks, because tanks are able to do their job in semi decent gear as long as they do it perfectly, but if they can’t do the dps check phases then they are screwed, so idk where this tank has gear priority came from in this thread.

It doesnt even make sense… if you need gear to survive bosses at tank you cant tank the bosses in the first place therefore you would never get gear.

DPS checks are and allways will be the problem

Master loot brought more problems than positives. I wouldn’t want to see it return, not in modern WoW at least.

Majority of people didn’t play nice with it.
Majority of people still won’t. Nothing’s changed. Community’s still the exact same. Betterment needs to be proven, and having to read countless reports of inflammatory whispers when refusing to trade a piece you need is probably not proof for Blizzard.
They don’t want to hire more GMs to sort through the lootninja tickets either.
If the few sunshiny perfect idyllic guilds that never had any drama with it were the majority, we would still have master loot. The reality is that they’re simply a very small minority.

Buying tokens, spending millions on BOE’s from different realms by server hopping, being boosted in pvp for gear, split pushing mythic keystones for the purpose of gearing up specific characters and a ton more of other extreme things…

And blizzard’s like, yea. We have to draw the line on master loot for guilds. That’s ruining it all.

Any top guild gear there dps first then then tanks then healers .
Quicker the bosses are burnt down less stress on tank and healer team.

This only counts for people in top 50 though and they do split runs anyway so your point is moot.

False most guilds didnt abuse the system good decent ones you assume and generalise far to much .

It is pugs that messed up ML with ninjas gold loot runs .

It’s not moot, Personal Loot slows down loot funnelling because you need to get the drop first to trade.

Master Loot is anti-fun for pretty much everyone that isn’t an officer or sleeps with the raid lead.

It’s hopefully never coming back.
