You think I’m defeatist but I see it as very matter of fact. It is the situation the realm is in.
Kreymore does not RP but I have 3 characters who do and I spent much time on the bios way back when I was more involved.
None, never RP’d like this, had interactions around both cities and on rare occassion out in the world, it’s always been impromptu.

Since I have been back 3-4 months I have RP’d/Sought rp just a handful of times as I’m also busy with the content that is released and stuff I didn’t finish on before.

Lots of people not really appreciating the importance of maintaining a realm’s purpose and community. Leniance on a growing entry of non-RPing groups and guilds that were coming by to match with guilds like Dark Glare after it became apparent that first kills would be more likely, while their griefing of RP became more widespread. Realm original non-RP guilds, IMO, should have encouraged a respect for the realm and its RPing populace much more than they did, which just bolstered people in their mindset that RP realms were not really worthy of respect or playing along with in good faith.
A lot of people on AD are from realms like Sha’tar, Earthen Ring, Defias Brotherhood; which they all saw become less and less a home for RPers as people acted leniantly or with a ‘what can you do’ mindset to a growing population of OOCing and griefing.
This is why ADers with those other-realm histories are so INTENSE about this. We can’t go back! The idea of returning to Sha’tar doesn’t fill me with nostalgic fondness, it’s dread.

As opposed to walking around in character everytime I play?
If I’m approached by others I have never been one to try and break their immersion or turn them down if I can afford the time, I have respect for other players experiences RPer or not.
Guys, I’m saying it here, in front of all my AD brothers and sisters…
If i EVER become an Ex-RPer (and I mean like, stop from Rping on anything and everything), you all have the right to come to my house and put me out of my misery.
This makes actually a lot sense now in context. I have been active on AD since mid-Legion and I’m still pretty new there despite being active for the past three years. Never knew the history of the other RP-servers this much.

It’s more or less always the same, the community stopped caring / was overrun by OOCers and they in turn made them leave by griefing heavily
Same happened on Defias Brotherhood (that also died just after the last role players left the realm I think that’s bitter irony)
What is RP to you if not an effort of cooperation between multiple people?
I think you are defeatist because you transparently say these things without actually believing them and then default to “ah… this is just the way things are now… can’t change it”
I create my character and do my best to create a backstory and qualities the character may have. Dress them accordingly or try to, and then go about my duties. If I have free time or don’t feel like going about the world I’ll just walk around the city, sometimes it’s for interaction and other times it’s just to immerse and feel part of the world.
Sometimes I have even handed out quests with rewards to players are interested.
It’s about having fun and using some creativity for me, I have had some very serious RP and some very light hearted stuff too, it’s not about how correct it is in the manner I RP for me but about enjoyment and usually that is shared with another person yeah.
It can completely be changed.

It’s not my place to sit here and attack people who do not decide to RP.
They might RP at a later date if they dip their toes in and enjoy it even, people change, Argent Dawn’s environment has the potential to bring that about in players.
I have seen it plenty of times where people realise “this is cool” and decide to get more involved from that point onwards.
Why not engaging with the community more? How else is your character going to grow/progress if not by interacting with others/being in conflict/forging relations.
