Recommendation picking server for alliance

Come on, dude

It’s akin to going into a furniture store with the intent of finding firewood. Yeah, sure, you can “”“get it”"" - but you are absolutely better off going to the appropriate store

It’s always a mixed bag, it’s nice to engage but I feel my taste is more suited to storytelling style, when I write my character I have much predetermined in my mind for their future so often the little interactions are just flavour for enjoyment rather than development, It’s a nice idea the campaign and maybe something I’ll consider in the future.
There is plenty of ways to RP.

If players openly disrupt i.e sit on mounts, /yell constantly then they should get turfed out to another realm or face a suspension. Or better yet let me ignore them and have their character entirely vanish. So I can assume more direct control immediately.

If I chose a RP server, of course I would RP guys. I’ve seen that the greent post really annoyed a lot of people, I can understand that you want to preserve your server as a roleplaying experience, I would roleplay on it.

By the way, if it’s totally outnumbered by alliance, then it would be as bad as the opposite case.

Is wpvp so unbalanced? I mean, if I go to Outland, it seems that I won’t be able to wpvp because horde outnumber the alliance and you get ganked a lot, and if I choose Argent Dawn (roleplaying ofc), you get no hordes to kill.

Absolutely based I love you

Edit: Also there is not a lot of WPvP going on in general on RP servers, only when there are server wide RP PvP campaigns

If you want to RP, then AD is the place to be.

The fundamental gripe is that suggesting [alliance] players to scurry onto a RP server for an easy time with warmode on will inevitably attract some rando hardcore horde PvP guild to mass-transfer for the epic underdog story. Then an alliance PvP guild will do the same to combat them - and then before you know it it’s no longer <Argent Dawn - RP> it’s <Argent Dawn - Normal>

Reminds me of my mindset when I RPd on my previous server Drak’thul-PvP. But then…

I moved on to Argent Dawn because I wanted to further my story and share it with others. Bit of a backwards thinking you have there. Are you afraid of engaging with others because your story would not hold up?

Then why you limit yourself to the least engaging RP possible?

You, Ferula… you are a good man

There isn’t really a fear of my story holding up because the style in which I typically RP isn’t always that reliant on it, I never really had the type of character who openly shares everything but more so a kind of in the moment style, the backstory just serves as a kind of schematic to how my character may respond in certain situations and it’s fun for me to continue to write on the bio/history as I would progress in the game or draw more inspiration for the character.

I find the difference with Argent Dawn compared to other realms is that RP is more abundant, on other servers RP seems to be less freestyle and more guild based, I’m sure that’s probably not entirely the case but RP of many styles is certainly more accessible on AD and I have many attachments here already from years of playing here.

Perhaps I do limit myself but I find it to be an enjoyable experience regardless.

Top response, you’re a good egg with the right attitude

Yeah the reason people are angry with Danellos has been well documented above. It’s not a reflection on your post or you as a player at all so please don’t be put off. We’re simply very passionate about our niche hobby and want there to still be a place for it.

Slapping on WM while on AD I always find myself outnumbered when I go to do something like, say, grab some easy conquest from a faction assault or go for a war supply crate in a more densely populated zone. In Uldum/Vale/Mechagon/Nazjatar I go in for the weekly kill quest and then switch it off because I don’t find it to be worth the hassle to try and grab mobs or quest items and keep eyes in the back of my head for the opposite faction.

WPvP has and always will be inherently unbalanced but you take the good with the bad in that case.

Anyway if you fancy trying out AD anytime it’s a very friendly and welcoming community. We argue amongst ourselves a fair bit but it’s only because we love RP and we’re all very enthusiastic about it.

This is the norm, yes

I hope this never changes, despite misguided MVPs and OOC apologists

Especially the one where you can involve multiple people. The cream of the crop

You can always have more in ways in the ways of RP I and others of AD champion.

Forever a shame you satisfy yourself with crumbs, while a feast is on the table.

I love this.
I have always been intrigued by the larger groups of RPers who do events and regularly RP amongst themselves, it has some appeal I just never bit the bullet, I’ll consider giving it a go in the future… I wanna nibble on that feast first and see how it goes!

I had my first mass RP event not long ago, I held a dueling tournament with a modest prize of 150k and it was a mixed batch of RP/non RP but very fun and we even got a visit from a large train of rpers kitted out in stormwind guard outfits and on horseback, they didn’t participate but it’s part of why I love the realm, you don’t have to be directly involved in RP to love these things or draw inspiration, these kinda things have an affect on us all as it just adds to the world.

If you are looking for a realm to make lots of gold and level a character, you might be better off asking somewhere like

No Normal realm will give you and advantage in PvP as the Horde currently dominate that. Although it’s loosely realm related, you are put into WM on or off with players from any other servers, the only exceptions are RP servers. The Alliance enjoy being the majority in WM for Alliance and get the benefits of having the WM bonus to boot.

Personally I wouldn’t create a character on a role play server, whilst I admire those that have a great imagination/creativity and can live out their characters on the screen, I am definitely not a role player myself. You need to be careful with your name choice and not disrupt any RP going on. Some role players do not welcome non RPers as you can see above.

In which case I wish you good luck in your upcoming RP career.

We have seen an unfortunate proof of this claim.

This is the message that should be shared. Glad to see at least some MVP coming around.

I’m not entirely sure when you think I’ve ever actually attempted to role play :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont think you ever RPd at all.

I do invite you to join us on Argent Dawn and try role-playing. You may surprise yourself.

Puny has been vocal about RP-servers for a long time now, that’s nothing new. I’m rather interested in reading a possible GM-reaction to this topic and if they might going to enforce the official RP-rules again.

Past postings of Punyelf suggested that she already tried it but it’s not her cup of tea.

I did create an Alliance on AD once, after a friend recommended the realm (he does not RP either), it wasn’t for me

It was amazing to see all these people walking (not running ) around Stormwind and people coming up to others greeting them, wishing them good day etc. However I’m more of a functional gamer, I wanted to pop in and out of the capital asap and get on with things. I just felt like an intruder, I didn’t want to upset other players who had specifically chosen that kind of gameplay.

I have been on the forums for many, many years, and I have seen Danellos make worthwhile, helpful posts that explain why he has his green nametag.

To see him now encourage people to damage the sole remaining bastion of WoW RP in Europe simply for their convenience is disappointing beyond words.

Danellos, I hope you think over what you’re doing. You’re supposed to help the community, not harm it.

Very good and respectable choice, def a lot better than trying to funnel non-RPers to the last functional RP server.
