Hi all, I returned to WoW for the recent free weekend and had fun playing my old characters in the prepatch event so decided to resubscribe. Obviously the new expansion is coming soon, but I’m looking for recommendations of anything fun/worthwhile to do before it hits.
I quit WoW during Shadowlands (after Sanctum of Domination and Korthia, before Zereth Mortis) and played Dragonflight for a month back in January but found it super confusing as the story was a mess without doing the raids and the game kept trying to direct me to the latest patch content so I didn’t really enjoy the experience.
Previously in WoW I enjoyed a whole load of different activities - raiding, M+, battlegrounds, collecting mounts, levelling professions, farming gold, achievement hunting - basically anything except arena and pet battles.
So if you have any recommendations for must-do content (quests, zones, dungeons, raids etc) or suggestions for pre-expansion prep, I’d love to hear your ideas.
The only restriction is that I don’t have a ton of time as I have a 4 month old baby. I can play a little during the day when he naps and then for a couple of hours in the evening once he’s in bed.
Might be worth taking a look at some mog options you’d like while they’re relatively easy to get right now. For example the gear from the current radiant echoes event can give you a full current tier set (should be 8 charges saved at the catalyst) but you can also get the season 1 set from the Forbidden Reach.
I will ofcourse be happy to critique any mog as well
Apart from Punys obviously.
Zereth Mortis was quite good. And it gives you some transmogs, mounts and pets. At lvl 70 and in 480 gear it should be a breeze.
Timerunning Pandaria Remix is worth a go too. There are not many days left of it though.
If you want to stick to Dragonfligjt stuff… I would try get done all the quests I came across, dungeons as your gear allows, and the same for raids. LFR is an option so that you at least get to see some of them.
All the DF raids are now Awakened, and gearwise equal. The M+ dungeons this season are all the basic DF ones. Dawn of the Aspects mega dungeon can be run in 2 parts as HC using the dungeon finder
This is such a good idea! Opening my bags and finding them full of random Shadowlands junk (as well as so many random pieces of gear that I’m not sure why I was keeping) or even BFA junk on some was traumatic enough, I dread to think what state my banks will be in…
Thank you for that link! I did some of it on the Alliance druid I played through DF on but not all - I definitely want to understand where we’re at storywise for starting TWW. The little movie included in the prepatch event was helpful for quickly getting me up to speed at least.
Well I feel stupid but… what/where/how is the catalyst? I know it’s something to do with upgrading gear or something but never stumbled across it when I was playing DF back in January.
Thanks, I was thinking about this but I never really liked any of the Pandaria zones or dungeons so wasn’t sure how much I’d like it. Worth having a look at anyway, I guess!
My immediate thought was “there’s no way I’m gonna do a massive meta achievement” but then I saw the mount reward… I need a good boi!
Given that TWW is only 18 days away, the only thing I’d recommend is if you want to level alts, not is the time. You can either do it in MOP Remix or by leveling through the pre-expansion event. Both can get you to lvl70 within 4 hours, which is the fastest way to currently level that don’t require any super complex speed-running tactics.
Warbands now allow you to collect mogs for all classes, not just the one you are currently playing. But the issue with this is that the last I heard, certain older raids have been buffed and are now extremely difficulty or impossible to solo. Not sure if this is fixed or we’ll have to wait until we’re lvl80 in TWW to be able to go back to them.
if you want to play next expansion my advise is look for mythic raid guild right now. because without one you wont be able to progress m+ on decent levels with the changes they did in beta
