It happened 6 months ago and I just recently discover that you can recover some AH expired mail, went on a vacation for a month and forget to get them mails and just expired after a month is there any way to recover them??
As long as Blizzard has a record of it through this tool here:
https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/197/1674/solution
That said logs aren’t kept forever.
This mail expiration is honestly nothing new. Blizzard doesn’t want you to use the mailbox as an extra bank, you had 30 days + 7 from the restore mail to take/recover it at anytime and you did not then blamed Blizzard.
Nobody said it was actually your fault, this is just how mail operates. But in your first post you insulted Blizzard over your own responsibility.
If you have suggestions you can create a thread at an appropriate non-support forum or through the ingame suggestion box.
I too have played quite a few, and mail is handled differently by each. Some have an incoming mail cap, or a short expiration date of 3, 7 or 10 days - but if they did expire or get deleted for any reasons, you could not petition GM’s for help.
They have two in fact, the mail return (if it has not been picked up yet, intended for wrongly sent mail) and mail restoration (if mail has expired, delete or whatsoever as long as logs last to self-restore).
Also do not necro threads with posts older then several weeks.
Can’t see my mails there
Then unfortunately you will not get them back.
I’m afraid those mails are forever lost if they’re not in our database anymore. Sorry.
Automated mails (from the auction house) stay in your mailbox for about a month, and are then deleted by the game (they can then be restored for about a week). Mails sent between players will stay in your mailbox for 30 days, then sent back to the sender where they’ll stay for another 30 days (assuming this person doesn’t recover their mail).
That’s seriously edited by moderator messed up. I lost over half a million gold because your game has expiry on gold from auction. No wonder so many players have quit this trash game. We are paying so much money on game time and you guys can’t even upkeep mail. What a joke of a game.
You could have logged in and picked it up so very easily. You had a month.
Personally I don’t Blame Blizzard for this, you need to take responsibility for your own inaction.
My dear player. Do you think people sleep in front of their PCs or something? Didn’t you read what the original poster said? What if someone goes on vacation for longer than a month like they did or they have been called to action as a soldier and return only after 3 months or even more? How should they claim the mail? It is what it is. I am sorry no one is perfect like you and that people make mistakes.
Personally, I think they could have auto-added the gold or items into your bank or something if it expires. I have played many games smaller than WoW and their mails don’t expire. It’s sad seeing a AAA company that can’t even provide basic services or backup if something bad like this happens. Let’s be honest, real crap happens and the world would be a better place if everyone helped one another instead of being toxic and playing the “it’s your own fault” card. If this was my company or game, I would have worked on a backup for failed mail systems especially if a player takes a break from a game. This being said, clearly you are saying people aren’t allowed to take breaks from a game. This is pointless though, you do you, I do me. Have a good day.
Then you either cancel all your auctions or pick them up before you leave. You should have enough time for one or the other.
It’s consequences for your actions (or inactions), that’s how it should and does work.
If you have a suggestion then by all means make it ingame.
