Recrafting is broken?

With my friends we just noticed when recrafted two same trinkets from 415 to 418, first one was created with good mats initially and second one was made with cheapest mats days ago.
For now it resulting in different difficulties for 418 recraft while the mats is not replaceble by any chance right now. This behaviour was intended or it’s some kind of a bug which nobody noticing and just kept it like “nah, let it be as it is”?

I do not understand what you are implying here…

  1. Good materials, requires less skill to max.
  2. Bad materials, requires more skill to max.
That is correct and it should work like that?

How are the mats “not replacable by any chance”? Just get better quality mats?

2 same items already crafted to 415 ilvl, mats were different when them was crafted, but now when trying recraft to 418 they have different skill requirements, that’s what i mean

You are correct and a thread was opened up about this a few weeks back. We don’t know if the dev’s are acknowledging this a bug yet or as you say “nah, let it be as it is." For some reason it is remembering the lower quality mats used. Since nothing has been done about it yet I get the feeling they expect you DE or vend the lower quality one and start from scratch. That is if you have any sparks left otherwise you will need to get lucky and get one off a boss or WQ etc.

I don’t really know if you are speaking about the same bug or another one.

Basically if you recraft an item with 405 ilvl (With primal infusion) to 418. The game UI adds the difficulty of the original primal infusion (30) to the difficulty of the recipe. The game server behaves correctly though and crafts the item with the correct quality.

The same applies for example if you want to change a missive or remove an embellishment. The difficulty of the old missive/embellishment is added (only in the game UI). The game server handles it correctly.

I create a thread related to this:

Not really I got one from the end chest in a m+ 6 about 2 days ago and on my druid I got one from the World Boss. Its just pure RNG and luck though. Reports from wowheads have said they can also drop from rares, dirt piles and satchel and elite WQ.

Tried all off them
Did 18 M+s and 3 full raids since the game
Never lucky…

I got one from a M+ (out of a total of 31 runs). I also did some rares, hunts, feasts, weekly aiding accord, a lot of dirt packs, etc.

So they do drop, but they are rare. I don’t know if there is a bad luck protection system in place like the one that existed in legion.

weeell, I haven’t so many friends and not needed resources to test everything up, after all it’s QA job
I described what we noticed with our crafter friend, it looks pretty similar but seems to have same source as both 415 trinkets was from what we started recrafting that evening, so seems like game remember everything what were(not only PI or CPI) used to craft/recraft at all stages and continiously stacking the recipe difficulty
