Recruit A Friend, revive an account

I am trying to revive an 16 month old account.

In “Recruit A Friend Update” https://news.blizzard.com/en-gb/world-of-warcraft/23891620/recruit-a-friend-update the news is:
“UPDATE: New in Dragonflight, you can now recruit returning players who have not had active game time on their account for the past year (was two years).”

On the Recruit A Friend page it says:
“This account is ineligible.”
And on the same page is stated:
“You must have a new WoW account, a WoW account created in the past seven days, or a WoW account with no paid game time within the past two years to be eligible.”

Is it one or two years?

Edit: The account I want to revive is my 2nd account.

I can definitely understand your confusion since this has changed more than once!

The shorted requirement of 1 year of inactivity was only temporary and with the more recent refresh it was indeed changed back to 2 years.

This could of course change again in the future, but outside of that I hope you can still recruit the account and grab the rewards you were after in another couple of months.
