I have an issue to flag with the Development team regarding the Recruit a Friend system.
My friend used my link and created a character however was directed to a new player server and the wrong faction. The following day, when I noticed this, I informed my friend which server and faction to be playing. My friend was unable to find the original account (WOW1) she had created so created a new account (WOW2) on the right server and the right faction.
My friend showed in my friends list as ‘Recruit’ so thought nothing more of this. The WOW2 account was upgraded from starter version to the full version and my friend is currently on her 2nd month of paid subscription, however no rewards have been received and have been unable to summon my friend using the recruit a friend summon.
Customer Support have looked into the issue and explained that the WOW2 account is not linked with my account but the WOW1 account is. They have advised that nothing can be done now to correct this as the account is older than 7 days.
The development team need to look at this issue and how RAF links can fail in this way. Also, if they can see that the RAF link was added to the WOW1 (currently still a starter account as confirmed by Customer Support), there should be an option to remove the ‘wrong’ account and move the RAF link to the correct account.
It makes me wonder how many others have had issues like this with RAF and how likely people are to recruit friends to the game when issues like this occur and cannot be fixed.
I hope the development team will take this on board and consider changes to the current system to make it easier for players to recruit others without issues occurring that seem to be unable to be corrected.
