Red eyes for Death Knights

How’d you do fellow forums posters?

With all the new and shiny characters costumizations in the pre-patch (and the new datamined eyes for Void and Blood elves.) I had a little thought I’d like to share.
How about red eyes for Death Knights? In Acherus, the Ebon Hold, there’s a NPC with red eyes, more specifically Lady Alistra. I know there’s been some discussions here and there about red eyes for Blood elves in order for them to resemble dark rangers, and while I like that idea, I’d love to see red eyes for the Death Knights of all races.

Thoughts?

I wish we could get eye color matching the spec or a choice between three colors. I’m not a fan of the blue “vaporous” eyes that doesn’t match most of my transmogs.

That would be awesome! And yeah, I’m not a huge fan of the blue eyes myself. A choice between three colours is a good idea.

This was brought up a couple of times the last few weeks.

I think Deathknights should change eye color depending on specc.

Personally, I have to disagree with this. The Death Knights all have the same eyes because of the power of death magic which courses through them, granted to them by the Lich King himself. It would make little sense to suddenly retcon that and give them the green and the red eyes as well.

The blue colour comes from the death magic that animates them, most magic in wow that deals in the death domain has a blue or gray/silver tone.

While at it, legion class mount colour is still tied to your spec, so please remove it too.

Omg yes, i’ve been talking to this to others for weeks if not months.
Here is a good way it could be introduced, i will also give a good example.
Night elves got the night warrior customizations once the questline with Tyrande went live and also a skin option. What i would like is a special questline with Bolvar or just ourselves where we experience Wrath Gate again.
You almost die as a warrior/paladin when the plague bombing happens but the dragons come and keep you alive, including Bolvar. You see the Lich King’s (at that time Arthas) minions take away Bolvar but you and others are left at the gate, they think everyone is dead.

After you stay alive for a period of time in the zone, some time passes by and Bolvar takes you (Arthas is already defeated at that point) into his ranks as a death knight. You are rewarded with orange, red eyes and a dragon burned skin option due to the flames of dragons that purged the plague.
Green eyes could be also explained via the plague.

this ia great idea, frost eyes on a blood dk have always looked especially weird to me.

Frost eyes on a Blood elf Blood spec always looked weird to me.

When i imagine a Undead elf Knight, I imagine them with Red eyes.

green eyes could be also explained via the plague, they just have to make it a bit different than Fel ones for DHs.
Red ones like Lady Alistra’s
Orange ones like Bolvar’s
the list goes on.

I’d like regular eyes for DKs.

Like rivendare, whitemane or Arthas pre lich king or … any dk in Warcraft 3 really

I think we can agree on the fact most people want more choice. I’m not really convinced of the color changing with spec since it’s again, not possible to choose whatever you prefer. Also I keep swapping from blood for pve to UH for pvp, and I don’t want my character’s eyes change everyday, I like my characters to have their own specific looks.
