Hey guys so I made the mistake of redeeming a code for the Epic Shadowlands expansion to my wow 2 account instead of my wow 1 account. I’ve not played for a good few years and completely forgot the difference between the accounts. So I submitted a ticket and it’s been over the expected 24 hours wait. I obviously just really want to play and I was wondering if I do play while I wait will that effect my ability to ask for refund or for all items and game time from the epic shadowlands expansion to be transferred to my main account?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
You mention “redeeming the code”, did you purchase the code from a third party seller or directly from Blizzard? If you bought it from a third party seller it might not be possible for Blizzard to change it to correct account.
If you bought the upgrade from Blizzard’s store then you should be able to use the semi-automatic refund service which I think is here for WoW:

And yes, using the product would make it less likely Blizzard is able to refund or change it it. Best to wait until your ticket is processed.
yeah I bought it from instant gaming, guess that means I more than likely won’t get help?
It’s super frustrating cause it took a lot for me to return to WoW in the first place
Seems likely as Blizzard doesn’t really support third party sellers, especially grey market ones like the one you mentioned seems to be. Cosmetic stuff in the epic edition is Battlenet account wide so you only “lose” the one month subscription and the character boost as the character boost is bound to the specific WoW account.
I would wait for the ticket reply. If Blizzard can’t change things then you can use the boost and 30 days in your second account and see if you like things or not. If you want to keep playing then you can decide which account you want to use. Character transfer (including from a different account) is 25 euros but sometimes they have sales, too.
I thought instant gaming was one of the legit game code websites. Do I not loose the access to the expansion too? meaning I’d have to buy again on my main account.
Thanks for all your help by the way it’s great
Oh, good point. Yeah you would need the expansion on your main account, too. At least until the next expansion is released (or maybe some time before).
As far the site you mentioned, as far I know Activision Blizzard doesn’t sell keys on third party sellers besides Xbox and Playstation store for the respective consoles.
Okay that’s unfortunate well like I said thank you for all your help. I’ll take your advice and continue to wait on support replying hopefully everything works out and soon.
There is only ONE legit game code website as far as Blizzard is concerned. Their own.
