Reduce the base cooldown of mind blast by 0.5 seconds in Shadowlands

Mind Blast’s cooldown on live is 7.5 seconds, affected by haste. This works out to be exactly 5 global cooldowns, regardless of your current haste.

Mind blast’s cooldown in shadowlands is 8.0 seconds, modified by haste. Now it’s 1/3 of a gcd longer in all circumstances, making it no longer line up in a normal gcd based rotation.

Shadow Word: Void, however, is unaffected, and remains at a 9 second cooldown (Effectively the same due to how charges work). Making the talent EVEN MORE IMPORTANT FOR THE FLOW AND FUN OF THE ROTATION than it already is.

Please blizzard, this has no positive benefit, it is not a gameplay change, it has no purpose or intention. It’s just an oversight and / or dumb rounding error that we’ve been telling you needs to be changed for 3 months at this point.

I also want to remind everyone this is a UNIVERSAL issue. If you like voidform as it is (Somehow) it’s a problem, if you like voidform conceptually and want it to be better it’s a problem, if you want orbs back it’s a problem, if you want something new it’s a problem.

Mind Blast in Shadowlands is straight up worse than live for no discernible reason. Fix it.

I dont understand why they even changed it in the first place. Im very curious as to the reasoning behind it

Mind blast has a base 15 second (10 GCD hasted) cooldown in shadowlands for all specs, speccing shadow gives you rank 2, which reduces the cooldown by 7 seconds.

So it’s a dumb rounding error or an oversight. The reduction needs to be 7.5 seconds.

They just can’t stop nerfing the spec, can’t help themselves. They’ll keep battering it until every priest just shuts up and heals like they want. It’s abuse.
