Reflecting Prism Bug -- Invalid Target Bug Fix

Hello,

Some of you have probably noticed for events when you’ve gone to prism someone you get a ‘Invalid Target’ either on them or yourself. This was a bit of mystery to me and others who do lots of DM’ing & NPC’ing for events. Simply put the afflicted would be unable to help and this curse would hit people at random, making it a roulette on who would be unable to NPC.

Well after some intensive (20 minute) research by our resident theorist / realist Stormbinder we have discovered the cause.

Solution:

Make sure you do not use Transmorpher Beacon at all. Transmorpher Beacon is essentially Blizzard’s worst monkey paw device. What should have been a great NPC’ing tool to get a variety of unique models doesn’t actually let you prism swap. That much was known for a while, however, it’s second curse is that it will stop you from being prism swapped at all for a extended period of time, even if you take off your form.

This effect may apply to devices that work like Neural Silencer that stop you being targetted with some effects or abilities.

Make sure you stay clear of these types of devices if you plan to help someone NPC with Reflecting Prism’s.

Alternatively, log a different alt that has not used those devices.

Regards,

Pullo.

Just my two (2x) copper pieces :moneybag: that I’m going to throw down on the bar :chocolate_bar: here even though I have no :dog2: in this discussion:

Thank you for clarifying Pullo. I really wish they would change that…

Looks at Kazra’jin model for Amani trolls.

But… Imagine if Reflecting Prism was a permanent buff, and wouldn’t be taken off unless dispelled by yourself… How good would’ve that been?

Yeah apparently when you get the hidden cool down from getting a form(you can check by talking to the NPC and receiving a line not handling another form for a while).

Apparently that cool down applies to any form changing with prism lol
