Okay, seriously. A lot of these models look better than what we have now in WoW. Some named characters, weapons, units, creeps - you could list it. Succubi, Naga, vehicles, dragons, satyrs and high elves are most obvious examples.
But when will we see it all in WoW? Do you not feel ashamed that models in the game where you look at them point blank look WORSE than in the game where you look at them top-down?
A small but very well illustrating example may be a Couatl model (Naga War3 unit, the flying manta-like venom-spitting snake). It did not appear in Nazjatar because there was no model (we got floatrays instead), despite being native to the ⌠Zandalar! Now we get a hi-res model for it.
Please, just put these models into WoW as well where able. You didnât do it for Diablo 3, which is understandable (one of your top managers very eloquently explained that D3 was a massive⌠errr⌠disappointment; probably because it does not make a steady revenue, so no visual updates for it), but literally nothing stops you now from putting those sweet HotS/WC3RF models into WoW.
Please do so. Or at least allow mods that will.
For the old times sake.
loud thump
Oh, sorry, that was just my head violently crashing on to my desk because of a stupid, repeated âRequestâ of âGief me supreme grafix!â
Yeah, and in a few years theyâll look dated as it is with any âHigh Definition Visualsâ. The only thing that does look like updated Warcraft 3 graphics are the building and ground textures, which I can safely say will last a good amount of time.
No. I do not, because they look better. The Classic models look better in the âAesthetical longevityâ sense.
No. Please donât.
Yes, there are barriers. Namely engine limitations (The Top-down games work on a different engine to WoW after all). Not to mention itâll look really out of place to have some Raid Shadow Legends character models running around in a WoW setting.
Oh piss off!
Super high definition graphics donât improve a game, especially if they donât fit with the rest of the gameâs aesthetic and looks, or if they just donât work properly.
Having a game played with small instances and linear levels allow the devs to put more detail in the game models as there is less stress on the computers that way.
Those models are great but would clash with the current gamestyle that is more cartoonish. Wish we had more high resolution characters though, some feel muddy or and lack options.
Iâm not completely unhappy about the models but I do think Blizzard should continue working on them. Bugs or glitches or whatever you want to call them have been present ever since they got updated(and even before that).
I really doubt it would be that much work if they just assign a handful of people to just fix them already. Plus, seeing NPCs with better faces, hair and textures than whatâs available to us is just pouring salt in the wound really
Graphics is the only thing that is fine with HotS.
What killed the game were constant uneeded changes to character that didnât need changes, and releasing clearly OP new characters so people unlock them with real money and then nerfing them soon after, over and oever again.
Whatâs actually funny is that classic models are way more better looking on highest settings and are less of a strain on my system than retail ones.
I do not notice much shoulder floating or clipping outside the capes on my troll / tauren.
If you mean letâs make everything ultra HD⌠I can only agree on the optional purchasable dlc option for this type of suggestions.
You clearly have enough cash, if current ultra settings arenât good enough for you.
But If you meant adding lookalike cool armor into the game I am on board.
Its not possible with the current game engineâŚ
The only way to enjoy the modern models like that is to have WoW 2. Period.
But I doubt they gonna do that. So we are stuck with low poly cartoon models that remind me of army soldier toys in size.
In HotS, you have 10 player characters and a limited number of NPC characters. One also plays the game from a top-down view, therefore having a very constrained view on the scene; the engine never renders the whole map and loads of NPCs at once. WC3 is very similar in this regard. Thereâs a limit on how many NPCs every player can build, a limit of players, and a limit of space of the scene.
WoW doesnât have those constraints. It needs to be able to render 100+ player models with different skins, weapons, and armor models at once, plus the environment which is much more detailed since WoWâs camera is freely rotatable and the world isnât just a 100m * 100m patch of land like in HotS or WC3.
If WoW would upgrade its models to the quality of HotS, the majority of the player base wouldnât be able to run the game anymore. It would be dumb for Blizzard to do that, just to satisfy a few players who can afford Nvidia RTX 2080 GPUs.
Even disregarding the way wow does armors and stuff, and the fact every single piece of armor would have to be re-done to fit the âreforgedâ models, the models in wow have a strong visual style easily recognisable, whilst w3 reforged models look look a fan made âwhat if graphicsâ mod.
if there is a graphical standard wow should strive for, itâs models like lorthemar and turalion etc.
'Oy, Mad Dog lookalike. Things looking prettier doesnât always equate to âSuperiorâ.
Frankly I donât like how the current models âEmoteâ so much with their faces, or try looking super intense whenever they cast a spell.
Also the running animations are absolute pants on at least 6 or 7 of the races. Either looking like they got something up their backsides, or are far too bouncy.
Also the recent Goblin updated models ruined the male faces, where now every one of them has a happy smirk on their face, which is just⌠Ergh.
Also they smell.
I donât think the character model style from hots would work in wow. What we have is actually very soothing for the eye. I mean have you seen how toned I look. Perfection incarnate I swear upon retrisomething his horde bias.
What that has to do with what I said about clipping / floating models?
Do you lack reading comprehension or just:
âAnything can be said as long as it serves the narrative, right got it.â
Either way, having less polygons and lower res textures and somehow animations look better, estetics look better⌠Dunno, itâs almost as it looks better?
If res textures and polygons is all you consider in visuals you are a poor soul.
Hots is not dead,it still gets events, updates and new heroes.
Were even getting Freaking Deathwing!
Also wow really lacks cosmetic/cusomisation stuff, and folder being big from possibly not optimized and all is seperate from wanting more and better cosmetic stuff.
