Refresh rate issues in WoW

My monitor is 144hz, everything is running smooth and fine. As soon as I turn on WoW/Wow Classic, the refresh rate keeps going up and down (switching between 48hz-144hz). I don’t have max foreground or max background fps selected, still it jumps like this. As soon as I turn off WoW, it goes back to stable 144hz again.

During this issue the monitor looks to be “flickering” very quickly which makes it annoying to look at.

I have even made sure the refresh rate in windows is set to 144hz - the issue still persist. The issue is still there even without addons.
And this issue only happens when playing WoW, no other games.

Please, how can I fix this?

Try placing the max foreground setting to your monitors refresh rate (144 in this case), I had a similar issue where the game wasn’t smooth unless I did that for my own monitor which is only 75hz even though my setup can do far more than that.
