This post concern the change that will be live next wednesday about the weekly change :
Well let’s start saying that putting RNG going from 1 to 3 Frag on a weekly quest was kind of a bad idea, now you will implement the reduction it will even go worse, since the nerf act like a multiplier of your RNG. Lucky people will have 133% of a token week 2 (4 frags) when unlucky people will have 66% of a token this same week (2 frags).
The thing is that, this will create a gap that will be carried all phase long, Lucky player have 2 tokens week 4 when unlucky players will have 2 tokens week 6 and so on.
I really think that a fix need to be implemented to close this or cancel this gap to make every player on an equal footing regardless of their 1st week luck.
SoD even if it’s not as rude as classic isn’t a retail like. On retail if you main let’s say hunt, you can easily level 4 hunters and try to play all of them. In this configuration, i would say that the 1-3 rng on the first weekly is less impacting since people would have a lot of alts.
But SoD is still a classic like and most of us can’t play 2-3-4 characters of the same class. In classic you mostly have 1 main and you put a lot of effort into it. It does not accord with Classic values to say "hey guys basing on RNG some people will get geared way faster, so if you want to play with rng just level a lot of char "
So how to fix this ?
Remove fragments of lucky people so everyone start week 2 with 1 fragment in bag ? lucky people might feels robbed and i understand it
Add / remove fragment so everyone start week 2 with 2 fragments in bag ? and get the third with the weekly so everyone have a token on week 2, in my opinion the best choice in term of balance, unlucky people get buffed, very lucky people get a bit nerf
Add fragment to every player so everyone start week 2 with 3 fragments, it’s the “easy solution” everyone get fast loot, might be a bit too much but why not. Just delete Chalice fragment from player bag and give them a completed chalice so the first week is totally canceled.
In every way some players will get upset by this first week no matter the solution (but hey it’s not like it was predictable when you put RNG on a weekly quest with a chance to get 200% more loots), but i feels like staying in the current state is the worst possibility.
When you gear up in raids it’s work the same right? Someone can get 4 pieces 1st week, someone 0. Of course it depends of loot system in your guild or RNG if you raid in pug. 66% of 1 token difference isn’t so much comapred to this.
Let me start this by saying your entire post is wrong for the following reason:
The weekly chest is BONUS loot for FREE. You get the exact same tier from the raid. By your logic ‘raiders will have better gear than me :(’
It’s an MMORPG, that’s how it works. And news flash, lucky people were going to be ahead anyway because you could get a full, completed chalice if you were lucky.
Blizzard just made it easier for YOU to get YOUR tier pieces and you’re too busy crying about others getting lucky. Pathetic.
It’s different to me, gear from raid is XX player effort teaming up together. The loot system will judge if we give loot to a specific player and let it rng with a /roll etc…
In the chalice frag system there’s no team up, no effort, just a wrist you buy for 20gold at ah and a fly to EPL then it’s 100% about luck. No skills, no achievement, no efforts just pure luck. If blizzard decided to nerf the chalica frag to 1 and set it to 3 frag for a token it’s because they wan’t to delete the rng part that they feel unfair. So if they want to balance into some king of bad luck protection they should normalize first week drop.
It’s because it’s free that RNG should not be part of the process. As i said earlier there’s no effort just 20 gold at ah and 10 min fly to EPL.
No. Really not. You can take Classic, Cataclysm Classic or even retail it’s not how it works. Mmorpg is all about efforts and rewards. People reaching first server has spent tons of hours tryharding PTR farming cons etc… But you exactly have the casual mind so i won’t bother arguing with season of dad player.
it’s not about the system it’s about having equall step since they remove the RNG part but you’re showing 0 IQ full toxicity won’t even take time to answer further.
Anyway, no point of talking here, i just wanted to post on the forum because sometimes blizzard keep an eye on it feel free to rage on this post doesn’t matter to me
Should we Randomize the Quest rewards then? Because effectively the Chalice shard is a quest reward. Except some players got 3 meaning their final reward would arrive between 2-4 weeks in and the others got a single shard meaning they’d have to wait 3-6 weeks.
