Regarding the Livestream Delay

I find that silly.

People complained that Blizzard didn’t actively support Hong Kong.

So Blizzard promised to do better in the future.

So now they actively support BLM and people complain again?!

There really is no way they can do right in these situations it seems. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

You’d think that wouldn’t you? But Blizz is a company that frequently lies through their teeth. They’re just using this incident as an excuse to postpone what little they got to reveal… with a side of virtual signalling.

Pretty sure its to do with whats going on in the US especially given the way they phrased it gives it away in the blue post :P. Kind of a shame that during quarentine the BLM movement basically postponed the one thing during these 2-3 months I’ve had to look forward too to keep spirits high.

Oh, I know.

What I mean is I think it’s an excuse to stall for some extra time. Blizzard’s little stream isn’t THAT big of a deal, ya know what I mean.

That’s also silly.
If Blizzard didn’t have much to reveal, then they could have chosen not to announce a stream event in the first place. It’s not like they were pressured by anyone to do that anyway.

I don’t think we should get into BLM here.

I don’t see why not, its probably why my previous forum thread i tried creating got reported too. I had a thread reported which was merely on the topic of player expression and what would the odds be of us seeing more race/class combos which are lore friendly and a racial overhaul of sorts given they were working on character customisation, unironically it got flagged during this period of time so, got nothing to lose by this point

what livestream and what delay? spacex already launched last week

It’s a political thing and Blizzard don’t want that talked about here.

One word: equality, if their willing to find the time to delay streams for such events I can’t see no harm in mentioning the subject since its fairly clear whats postponing it. Freedom of speech and all that “good stuff.”

I don’t see why their message of support from a few days ago wasn’t more than enough. I’m stuck in the house 'cus of the coronavirus lockdown in the UK and the stream was probably one of the few things I’ve had to be excited about. I’m kinda hoping they’ll at least give us new date for the stream after this delay.

And then we get halfwits screwing over months of effort to control the Corona outbreak taking to the streets en masse…

Let’s disregard the 1 million that has already died to it, screw the susceptible!

People are their own worst enemy…

We’re going to see a spike in infections again because of these idiots.

I would agree with that statement if Blizzard would fully forgive Blitzchung. But, although they reduced his punishment, they didn’t cancel it completely, he was still banned for 6 months.
So what they did now is just showing double standards . So basically chinese lifes doesn’t matter, but black lives matter.
And trust me what happens with blacks in US is piece of cake compared with what happens with chinese people that oppose the comunist regime. They are literally killed for just saying words against the regime. If you do something wrong, not only you are punished, but also your family + your unborn children or grandchildren can suffer the consequences. There are documented and known cases where entire families where killed or are missing.
At least in US, a George Floyd event happens once a few months. In China it happens on daily basis. Not to mention the constant fear with which they live, where they must be careful with every word they say.
I don’t want you guys to think that i don’t empathise with George Floyd case and i totally agree that the cops should be punished with a equal punishment with their action (if you understand what i mean), but this is exagerated. To start a global drama and start pillage, loot and destroy everything, it’s not a fixing of the problem. It adds more grief to it.
What i am curious now is what will Blizzard do if someone will start making BLM propaganda during one of their eSports streams. Will they ignore and pretend it didn’t happend? Or will they puniah that player?
And it will be funny to see, because whatever option Blizz will choose, it will backfire.
If they choose to punish that person, Blizzard will be called out as a racist company.
If they choose to do nothing, Blizzard will be called out as a double standard company.
The mistake they did with Blitzchung is irreversible. That was their biggest PR mistake and can’t be fixed.

PR doesn’t require you to slow down your production and delay events tho. Feels more like an employee thing than a corporate thing.

The Twitter post about BLM ? Corporate. But delaying production ? Are you crazy ? Time is money friend.

As for having nothing to reveal that’s ridiculous. Even the state of the alpha and beta release date would be enough to host the event.

Details on the professions, leveling, thorgast and more which are either in the alpha or datamined files which were never properly presented. Work already done which just need a new packaging.

And we still lack any reliable info about conduits, gearing, open world content, wpvp ect. More than enough stuff where even vaguely mentioning something could be enough.

He willingly broke the rules and knew what was coming for him. He later on recognised that the sentence was fair once they reduced his ban, didn’t fire the two casters and gave his money back.

Case closed.

Rules were put in place to prevent guests from bringing unwanted politics into the competition, not to prevent Blizz from claiming whatever PR empty slogan they want to share. They did it before blitzchunk, they did it again with BLM.

Don’t quite see how it translate into a double standard, both things are unrelated and more importantly not operated by the same ppl. They have been surfing on similar trends for years now, this is but the most recent one.

My account game time it’s going to expire on june 9th. Can you postpone that also?

it’s being delayed due to the George Floyd protests.

I have my own opinion on that matter which i won’t go into here as it’s likely to upset the self righteously indignant and will get me banned.

All I will say is i am growing ever increasingly tired of being labelled a racist purely based on my skin tone (the irony) and there is a vast difference between peaceful protesters and people smashing up stuff and looting. And I am glad the officer involved in the Mr Floyd tragic death is being charged with second degree murder, and not third. He deserves it.

That will be all I will be saying.

Both events are very related to each-other. Basically, if you go to the core of the both issues, borh have the same reason:

  1. Hong-Kong people fight against chinese brutal comunist regime that tries to take over their freedom.
  2. Black people in US fight against the brutal treatment received from cops (which basically represent the government authority) which most of times is applied only to blacks.

Either you are blind or you are just trolling, looking for a reason to argue.
Both are “fights” for freedom and better treatment from the authorities towards their citizens.
And the double standard? Well it’s already made clear.

Where they did it with BLM? A example? Link?
And to add more salt to the wound, instead to keep themselves impartial to this BLM topic, they choosed to bring BLM as the main reason why they postponed the stream. At least, they should keep their “bad guys” attitude, already proven with Blitzchung and go on with it. This was a huge mistake.

Have a day off, dude.

People asked them to be better. They promised to be. They are being better.
