Regular disconnect/game being stuck

So lately it became a trend that my game gets stucked/freezes in a way that I don’t get disconnected and I can keep moving around with my characther but mobs are missing and I can’t press anything. Only solution is to AltF4 and start the game again.
Other times it’s just a simple disconnect.
Both kind of problems happen multiple times in a relatively short period of time (like it happens 3 times in about 15 minutes) and after that nothing, the game is fine.
In both cases I can log back in instantly without any difficulty.

I doubt it has anything to do with my internet connection because for example today I was watching a stream in the background and the stream was not interrupted even for a second while I got disconnected from the game.
Not really sure what is causing such issues because this started happening in the past few weeks so my first guess would be some kind of driver issue but then I would expect some other kind of problem instead of disconnects.

This happens in both classic and shadowlands altough I mainly experience it in classic since I pretty much don’t play SL nowadays.

I was wondering if there might be another solution then a clean windows install.

Heya Äsha,

What you are describing is something called a desync. Effectively, your connection to the game server was lost however there was enough partial data being sent so that you were not disconnected to the login page. Normally, this is just the chat staying connected.

For this, we do recommend working through the general connection troubleshooting as there’s a good chance this will get you back on track.

If the issue persists, please upload your system files to pastebin and reply with the links to the files using the preformatted text option to encapsulate the links.

Along with this, please also include a winMTR created while you are seeing issues.

First one is msinfo and the second one is winMTR.

Edit: Also what does not make sense to me is that it is only WoW that does this.
I pretty much only play online games, I work from home so I would notice pretty quickly if this was a network problem on my end, I think.
But no lag, no dc in any other title (including Blizz games like heroes of the storm, hearthstone, etc…).

I have exactly the same issues as this. My character remains in the world but the game client stops responding to commands/can’t interact with mobs/npcs - nor even exit from the client. It only started doing this today, as was fine when I played yesterday/day before.

I just started playing WoW a few days ago with the free client, and having reached almost lvl 20 today I purchased 6 month subscription (and a bit annoying it’s doing this after having subscribed also!).

I’ve done the networking fixes/wow cache file renames etc. but to no avail. Also - internet connection is fine/no lag/internet up and streaming fine elsewhere. In game client reports 20 ms home and 21ms world the several times that this happened today.

happening to me too, every 5-10 minutes so im constantly being killed and booted out of dungeons, anyone found a fix yet?

I hope it’s not too late for it, but I’ve had such constant desyncs/freezes for a few days now. It could be a coincidence, but so far they have happened mostly while I’m leveling my character on Legion timeline. I have started playing EU servers last week, have also actively played my US account in the meantime and so far it has only happened on EU side.

The same happens to me when I’m in Legion content and rarely in shadowlands.

I have been experiencing the same problem for a week or so. It’s 1:1 same problem with all those cases.
Either 51900319 error-instant DC or no dc but mobs disapear and can’t do anything but walk around. Also chat servers stay active.
Just like OP says after 3-4 try, game settles down and no problem after.
It’s like there is a bad IP or sth at your side and i try to dodge it.

@Äsha Did you find a solution ?

No solution so far and I gave up on their brilliant customer service…
After like the 4th guy stepped in to ask for the same stuff all over again on the same ticket with the ticket history being there… I said f**k it and did a clean windows install + everything hoping it would solve the issue but nope.
Sometimes days pass without DC issues but then it starts again.
It is hard to imagine the problem being on my side because as I said before and multiple people mentioned as well that I have zero network issues in ANYTHING else. Like even in the battle net app, wow is the only game with problems.
I was thinking about resetting every router in my home network but then again if there was a problem with it I am pretty confident I should be experiencing it elsewhere too.

its almost a month now and im still having random freezes, i agree with you, i think problem battlenet is the problem, i gave up trying to fix this

same here, would be great to get some f**** help…

I have the same problems… nothing that the support says helps…
and @support… no… its not a problem with the internet provider, since i tested different ones.
its a problem on YOUR side, so dont say “please try to contact your provider”, just fix your stuff
