Brought a PC about a year ago, this is the first time i didnt buy it with a CD-Rom, wanted to do a fresh install of Windows 11, the PC come with the Windows 11 CD and CD-Key, advice on how i would go about it?
You can install from a USB stick so no CD drive needed. But you will need to download the installation files from the Microsoft website to write to the stick.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows11/
Have your USB ready and choose create installation media option, then follow the instructions.
Once it’s created you can restart the pc with the drive plugged in to start the installation.
However, if the installation does not start you may need to change some settings in your BIOS first. Usually the HD will have prio on boot and there may be certain settings such as secure boot enabled that prevents USB boot up.
So just to clarify i need to buy a USB stick? If so what size?
I believe it has to be at least 8GB… but most sticks are way above that now anyway.
Run the create installation media to double check, it will tell you what size you need at a minimum.
Just to add, if your buying a stick, try buy it from a reputable pc company. There’s a lot of fakes on places like Amazon and eBay.
Cheers for the help.
The best way to reinstall Win11 is to just install Win10
