Omg I’m finally seeing a live Karen! Glorious day!
These guys would go on a restaurant for dinner and be fine with waiting 60 minutes to be served their food because the restaurant is under staffed. They would probably rate it 5 stars too and be very understanding of the restaurant’s owner excuses that the crisis led him to cut out on staff so now customers will have to wait longer while the menu prices are the same. I mean we should be sympathetic of giving our hard earned money to these poor corporations in need that can no longer provide in these times of uncertainty. At the end of the day I guess we should all be compliant sheeps who do not complain about anything and take all the mediocrity we get with a smile. It’s like Covid turning into the new 21th century excuse for not delivering, it’s ok guys, we understand just take your time…
Im not defending them, per say, im just saying that your expectations are unrealisticly high. And maybe you see yourself as a bit more important than you actually are ( in their eyes). I mean, since you want them to have a perfect prepatch, and they obviously dont have one. That implies that they just dont find your oppinion on the matter important, no?
Let me put this perfectly clear, its impossible to have a perfect product. You just cant, beacause whats perfect for you isnt perfect for others. Perfect is a matter of oppinion. Are you saying your oppinion is more important than others? Ofc you dont, that wouldnt be very sympathic.
They obviously cant satisfy everyone, so they have to chose. Who do you think they chose? They chose the majority of the playerbase, obviously.
But, if you dont like what you’re paying for. Then unsub, and resub when SL is launched. If enough people unsubbed beacause of prepatch, maybe they would do something about for the next expansion?
Money speaks, they only care about money. They dont care much about your oppinion, aslong as they get your money. And it works, you seem to dislike the current prepatch, but you’re still subbed. No?
See where I’m coming from now? This is being narrow. The opposite of being narrow here would be to expect them to deliver a product you would be happy about instead of considering cancelling a sub. It is what it is. Can we end this now, there’s plenty of other people to pick on this thread, not sure why you picked me when you even stayed off topic for half of our interactions where you chose to debate narrowness instead like if you got offended and had to call me out for asking if someone is narrow IRL too. Cya. You can talk to the hand now.
Do you know what that logic led to? Dead lfgs in 8.3 prime time in prime time. And then ppl saying in forums that they can’t find anyone to play arena with.
Its like talking to a teenager, if im honest. You seem to have NO real life experience.
You only care about your oppinion about wether the game is polished or not. You want the game to cater to YOUR perfect view of the game, you dont care about others.
You contradict yourself.
I think you will understand how the world works more clearly, the day you get a job. And how prioritizing matters.
I guess i called it?
Yes, beacause people unsubbed. Ofc they unsub if they dont wanna pay money for a product they dont like? Are you surprised?
Do you expect people to keep playing, even if they dont like the game?
People unsubbed and called for bringing abilities back. And what did blizzard do? They gave us some abilities back. Im not saying that the abilities we got back were gamechanging, but well its something i guess.
Cash is king, they only care about money. Hopefully you arent surprised about that. They dont care about anything you say or do, aslong as you spend money at them.
If 80% of the playerbase unsubbed for a cause, you can bet that blizz would fix it in a heartbeat.
Lecturing me on life? This forum has indeed some interesting piece of work tools. Stay away from me Mr. Mature Experienced at life. Thank you.
Well Blizzard will obviously apply their resources to where the customer demand is. And evidently the resources are being applied to the Beta right now. And given the fact that Blizzard have had to delay a previously announced release date, that does make sense.
It would be absurd if Blizzard delayed the release date of the expansion, and then proceeded to work on pre-patch balance instead to working on getting Shadowlands released as fast as possible.
The moment Blizzard decided to delay the expansion, the only priority became to get the expansion finished as fast as possible. It’s one thing to delay an expansion. It’s another thing to delay an expansion needlessly.
From a customer point of view there’s a few angles to it.
One is to acknowledge that you’re the customer and you can’t actually demand anything. You either choose to buy the product because you think it’s worth your money, or you don’t. You vote with your wallet. That’s as far as your ability to demand anything goes.
Secondly, then it’s of course in the customer’s interest to get as much value for your money as possible. So you should absolutely demand the most.
But one should also be realistic about what Blizzard can actually deliver with the resources they have available.
It’s easy to say that they should just hire more developers, but that doesn’t change the fact that right now they have to make do with the developers they have. And since they can’t do everything at once, then they have to choose. They have to prioritize their tasks. You can’t say Blizzard should work 100% on both pre-patch and Beta. It’s either 100% on one or a split effort on both.
What’s in one customers interest in that regard may not be the same as another customer’s interest. I want Blizzard to focus 100% on the Beta. You don’t. Blizzard can’t accommodate both of those wishes.
And finally, I think it’s also worth realizing what kind of customer you are in the grand scheme of thing. You’re not a billionaire who just walked into a fashion boutique and flashed a Centurion Card. You don’t get the royal treatment for your 10 buck a month. I spend more money in my local supermarket each month than I spend on WoW, but that doesn’t make my supermarket cater to my every whim and desire.
In the gaming industry, there are limits to how far companies will go to maintain a customer. Especially a customer does not spend in excess.
Clearly some people seem not to understand this.
There’s a difference between demanding something that’s realistic and something that’s not.
Likewise there’s a difference in expectation in regards to the assumption that your demands are those Blizzard should heed, and not those of other customers.
How about you do some research? instead of having to be spoon-fed information?
Even a quick google search (or even youtube video), can show the imbalance most prepatch’es have…
In the game industry i get treated better in f2p games than in wow. There is a pre-season in lol atm and riot balances it pretty well. Yes maybe its different game genre but clearly company can set priorities.
Yes, exactly! Blizzard just chooses to prioritize what you dont want them to.
I want them to prioritize shadowlands but i don’t agree with that “its just a pre-patch, its never balanced” logic.
Well that’s great. And hopefully the gaming companies that offer great value for money and treat their customers really well will go on to be very successful.
But as far as I can see, then you’re still here with Blizzard, so evidently they’re doing good enough for you.
Not in pre-patch but I can’t do much about it but argue in forum with you and wait for expansion. But you say that company 100% prioritize upcoming expansion, will be kinda disappointing if you will be wrong and they still won’t deliver balanced experience. Time will tell.
Well. I wouln’t really call it “logic” or anything. Its an obvious consequence of applying new expansion changes and systems(if there are any). It lasts like a few weeks. Obviously stuff may be broken cause a lot of stuff come into play at lvl 60.
And with limited resources as it is(working hours, manpower and etc). What’s the point to try to balance and tweak something now if it will be obsolete in matter of weeks? Nobody will care what you could do or couldn’t do at lvl 50 when you are too busy with SL lvl 60 stuff…
Yes, wich i think its a good thing. Ofc thats a personal oppinion.
Yeah, and this is where i think we both will be disappointed. Sadly. They havent managed to have a enjoyable pvp scene for the last few years (atleast not for me). And im worried they wont be able to now either. Wich is why i havent bought SL yet.
Time will tell, indeed.
