I’m yet to see a non necrolord elemental or resto shaman or a non night fae fire mage, or a non night fae MM hunter. So yeah.
Don’t know about you but if you go into keys over 10 esp. in Halls it’s a very big help to have a Venthyr user in there, can easily make the difference between timing and not timing it.
No one argues that it can’t be helpful 
The point is that you can do M+ without it and you can.
Idk if I invite an mm hunter to a key and find out they’re venthyr I’m replacing them. For some specs it is that big, and it’s why vast swathes of players who care about competitive performance are all the same covenant.
Well you’re not seeing threads about it because they removed locked covenants and now people can change to whatever covenant they want. Why would they complain? Not sure at all what you’re point is.
don’t matter in the end anyway there no loot to be had in this expansion its just a giant waste of time so even if you can join the wrong convant you wont get anything anyway

This is VERY easy to explain.
Back then just a few months ago covenants was order of magnitude stronger then they are in the live game.
Even to this day there are specs with a covenant that is 20% or stronger than others.
I am sorry to tell you this if you do for the keys you are running you are being very stupid. Would a night fea or kyrian do more damage potentially it depends on factors like is the tank keeping the mobs in the circle, but a good venthyr hunter will always beat a badly placed or hardly used night fea player.
You are not running high enough keys where the players need to be awsome to the point it matters what covenant they are, and the skill of the individual player and the group matters far more.
Nope. I blame the well known streamers and youtubers for this who went on the beta for 2 hours and came up with their own nonsense theories about how Blizzard is ruining the game, because during BfA, that was what brought views, not being realistic about the state of the next expansion. The amount of videos claiming that the only viable covenant for m+ will be venthyr because of that. Meanwhile the range on it is not even big enough to use it for skips.
There are no #pulltheripcord threads anymore because everyone realized that the difference between covenants got balanced because (big surprise coming up) the first day of alpha is never the same as the released expansion.
100% won’t be the case. They will announce new system before alpha release and everyone will cry about it, then the same thing will happen.
It was like this since day one. People whined because of the time it takes to change covenant, which is still the same, yet no one cares.
It’s already shown in raider.io website, maybe soon they’ll modify the addon too.

For pushing very high keys the covenant buffs surely matter, but at least it’s enough to have 1 player in this covenant.
First of all, it was not only min-maxers. People such as myself were angry about the system too. Still are for that matter.
I rerolled my Shaman 2 days ago from the Covenant I wanted (Night Fae) to the Covenant that wasn’t absolutely garbage (Necro). So stop trying to claim it was just a min-maxer issue.
But you are not the type of player to experience the min-maxing world OP. You’re an LFR raider and an average M+ player (possibly below average).
When players talk about min-maxing just do yourself a favor and exclude yourself from that conversation.
