Remembrance Event: World of Leechcraft

It’s a great feeling leveling up, to not have gear keep up pace with your character where eventually even taking on a trash mob like a Deviate Fish is an absolute struggle… and a death sentence if you get a few on you.

As such most players leveling just end up flying about above expecting level 70s to complete an objective, because they most certainly can’t! i.e. - Leeching.

And level 70s participation plummets after the first Zone Boss [LK/Ony/Rag] so doing Objectives after becomes a lot slower…

For some reason Blizzard opted to have gear off leveling, the “Recruit” ones, be such an abysmally low drop rate… for leveling characters! Just, why??

For the love of God either up the drop rate to an almost guaranteed piece of gear off Objectives and Zone Boss, or have them sold by the Vendor.

I honestly hate strictly relying on others for this event, to be a leech…

Levelling up is so fast in the event that players will need to be given at least 1 item per memory completion to keep up with the insane scaling. I just did an Onyxia full run from 100% with a guildie and he got 3 and half levels during it.

I originally planned to level a few alts through this event. I changed my mind after I went in with a level 14 paladin equipped with enchanted/gemmed heirlooms. Taking 5+ minutes to tickle minibosses to death is not my idea of fun, and the scaling is far too wacky on regular mobs. I felt like my low-level presence just made things more difficult for other people so I’m now running through Dragonflight instead.

Yeah it feels bad  I mightve been a bit ambitious earlier as well.

I just did 1 run in searing gorge on my low level DH.
I got 3 gear drops from random mobs during the event but I can’t actually use any of them. My currently equipped I level on my DH is 72, all 3 pieces of gear which dropped during the event were I level 30.
If we actually got loot on our alts which was an appropriate level we could maybe remain relevant and contribute during while leveling up, it would be much more fun for all involved.

Seems the Recruit gear was an afterthought Blizzard farted out… heirloom would be 227 but the recruit gear is 146.

Unpopular opinion: It is a good thing that the massively expensive heirloom gear outranks any gear that a player can encounter while levelling. How much does it cost to upgrade a heirloom item from its base (level 29) to the current max (70)? 25k gold?

Given how fast they adjust the event, I expect a gear buff soon, as well as an exp nerf. Milk it while you can
