My uncle died from alcoholism so I find this in extremely poor taste, remove please. There is nothing funny about this illness that ruins and destroys millions of lives. You are removing mild flirts and emotes maybe 1% or less of people would be bothered by - well I find these much more offensive.
It was childish and boring within 5 minutes of people being offended by a fruit bowl in place of a crudely drawn piece of wall art in a videogame that they didnt give a monkeys about until other offended people made “im offended by you removing something i had to work really hard to find, let alone get sweaty about” threads.
Still. Nothing like a fake outrage bandwagon to keep the internet occupied for 5 minutes.

You don’t get it, the topics were REACTION to an action, just becasue we felt that it will happen again and again. And where do they draw the line ? We won’t know until we will read the next batch of changes, and so on
Mild innuendo is not the same as crude objectification of women. Yes, take down crude pictures… but change the names of things like “Wirt’s third leg”?
This is how the argument goes:
“Woke” (i.e. empathic) person removes obviously problematic thing.
Alt-right loose their minds over it, stating that “this is slippery slope”.
“Woke” person stops at only making necessary changes, thus proving that the alt-right snowflake is wrong with their slippery slope argument.
The problem is that sometimes the left-wing of politics really does go too far. Sometimes it really is the top of a slippery slope. Blizz are doing what the centrists always fear from the left, that is taking a good idea and pushing it to the (illogical) extreme and alienating so many people the right-wing stays in power.
A “damn” videogame that I played for 15 years, and I’m totally sure I played it for more then those NEW purple hair devs that are trying to make a name for themself by involving their personal problems and beliefs into a 16 years old GAME.
It is funny that Blizzard says this:

Then tries and forces balance numbers so they will get the right values: hire x of that race, y of that gender, z of that sexual orientation.
Im not the one whining and trying to make a political mountain out of an insignificant change to a videogame.
My opinion on this matter is and always has been the same.
If the people who cared so much about a set of pixels being changed to another set of pixels as they did about things in real that do deserve the same amount of zeal then they wouldn’t have time to fret and panic over the destruction of their sensibilities by a change to a videogame.
How ironic that they are outraged at someone else outraged, and if someone tells them to grow up, theyre offended by that person and call them outraged too.

And what if I point to your posts, the amount of text in it and the nature / tone of it? Seems to me you are whining alright. Just about something else - about other people “whining”.
You see, it’s not a good idea to complain about what other people write. Write on topic instead. That’s all.
I wouldnt call removing/changing emotes an insignificant change to the feel of RPG. Changing paintings, renaming npc’s is insignificant yeah, but emotes are not. Overall these changes are laughable not because how pointless they are, but because of the hypocrisy.
So sad for your friends. If a friend doesn’t share same values as you do, you leave him/ unfriend him ?
We al sub from time to time, in the hope this game will be great to play continuosly, not for 2 weeks on 10 weeks off.
And yeah, thank god they are not holding the higher ropes on overall real life.

I don’t think anyone genuinely cares about your opinion with what you are saying. You are just one of these arrogant stereotypical individuals who want to tell others what they should and shouldn’t be annoyed about. These changes affect others enjoyment of the game, you may be short-sighted and only see them as insignificant changes, but it annoys a lot of people as can be seen through this feedback forum and a lot of forums elsewhere. This btw is what these message boards are for, they are for feedback, that is it. Not somewhere for you to reinforce your pseudo sense of being morally superior to others like you’re above it all.
Ironically btw, these changes are politically motivated, the mountain was already put there.
Well, if you get some folks to be vocal and blizzard takes into account of those harassment issues were caused due to their excessive alcohol drinking parties and employees.
Then it’s a Yes.
There’s nothing “Empathetic” about the changes being done.
And yes, the “Woke” crowd truly are full of empathy. The kind of empathy where they lose their minds if someone does something they find disagreeable and then try to destroy them.
