Remove BP from PvP

There’s no denying that ever since the introduction of borrowed power PvP has been far worse.

Why dont we just disable all the borrowed power elements from PvP?
Conduits, gone. Soulbinds and all their multipliers, gone. Legendary powers, bye bye. Covenant Abilities, you could maybe stay to give some variety.

Cool.

If all those things were removed, imbalance would have a whole other level than it is now since majority of specs are completely tuned and based around legendaries and conduits.

Imagine DKs without abom limb, fleshcraft or marlieth’s ooze shield.

Just a non-elite outdoor mob.

With currect design - both will be dead. UDK without NS, FDK without heartstop aura - gg wp.

All true, and I’m sure every class has examples like this. But this is why classes should be balanced around their own strengths, not borrowed garbage that make classes rely on it.

Why dont we just roll back the game to 5.4.8 where it was good and continue from there

Because blizzard is delusional

There should have been alternate path for PvPers to get all that Covenant crap from PvP. Ion Hazzikostas is the problem or he has too much work in his hands and too many woopsies happen too often.

Oh THAT i think every pvper agrees with you with. But its like alcohol and cigarettes: they should never have been created, but now that they are here you can not just ban them.

This would be a much better way to balance the game accordingly based on the format of gameplay I.e. pvp/pve… you could buff an ability if it’s under performing in pvp but nerf the conduit that makes it better for pve for example…

Say mortal strike was hitting a flat 20k pvp and 25k in pve with a conduit increase of 25%. You could nerf the ability 25% to 15k flat and increase the conduit to a 60% increase.

Therefore you end up with a nerf to pvp abiltiy but keeps its strength in pve, this could work for any ability in any way.

Also stops the farming for pvp side of things

U are asking for what was in Legion - templates, manual tuning by devs. But some sort of players really don’t like it - REALLY - they raging so hard and so loudly…They want gear matters, time spend matters, broken class that u can sit and roll face all season and so on.

Removing anything from PvP will make it useless. What’s the point getting all that gear and abilities if some of them won’t work?
Oh how I wish leech worked fully, took my time to farm that max rank leech gem + raid shoulders just to get pathetic +1.5% leech (with +3% outside arena).
Also it makes no sense for third secondary stats on items just being ignored in arenas.

They won’t, because then people will realise how hollow classes are without borrowed powers.

there is not much deference for dk. is garbage anyway

If you took away all borrowed power, then warrior would be even more oppressive than it is now

Just consider covenant abilities as level 60 talent at this point because the specs will be incomplete without them at this point.
However soulbinds can go together with all their conduits.

People complain ab0out borrowed powers but honstly whats the difference it makes?
How is it different from example from having adaptive swarm as base spell?

hunters not even using ‘’ borrowed ‘’ powers and just lazor you trough a wall.
Monk who is putting so much damage and pressure yet cant be CC’d it would just be the same just with less skills.

That’s kind of true. But then you dont get access to certain abilities whilst leveling, or without ‘unlocking’ something, whether through renown or conduit etc. But also multipliers, procs and stat increases through soulbinds are what annoy me about it too. I’d rather just have class power, and only thing that makes a difference is gear.

In MOP you just had all this in talents, glyphs and abilities (so warrior had crazy mobility without any borrowed power), we had druid symbiosis and many other mechanics and spells which were ridden off after xpack.

Its always like that they give smth and take it away and introduce smth new not because old was bad but because players expect new things.

People comlain about templated in Legion we got vendors back, now we complain about gear acquiring they will bring tempaltes in some form again.
Thats how mmorps are.

Those things, particularly legendary effects are there to make the classes feel ‘fuller’ and often add new mechanics to play around with that you normally wouldn’t have. Going from any other content in the world and getting to use al that stuff to PvP where you play a severely limited version of your class wouldn’t feel good. That’s what Legion templates did, and there’s a good reason I didn’t enjoy Legion PvP in the slightest.

Now, that same problem would be even greater than in Legion. What you call borrowed powers is an integral part of class design. A change to that would have to come from less reliance on them in overall class design, not just requesting for all of that to be disabled in PvP. Forcing people to play unfinished classes in PvP is not the game-fixing solution you think it is.
