Don’t even make up a replacement talent, just get rid off this hideous garbage. Remove Demon Blades from DH while you are at it. These talents are god awful and just give more damage at the expense of an actually enjoyable core rotation. For once in 10 years ret is half decent, but surpriseee, you gotta stare at auto hits as part of your ration like you are some level 10 toon in Classic.

Crusader strike’s damage isn’t what you should look at, but how many Empyrean procs it generates, how much holy power they give, the 2% heal you get from them and so on…
If they completely removed its damage, the ability would still be useful.

There is 1 very good reason why a RetPaladin should NOT have to press a button every gcd.
If you had to use EVERY gcd todo our subpar ST damage (We actually need a buff to our ST damage) you wouldnt use your “support” toolkit anymore. Sacrifice, BoP, LoH maybe even an instant flash of light (if talented), Dispell ect.
If you want to spam buttons like a maniac play fury warrior (It is not FUN to have to wait for a Procc from autoattacks… thats for sure but having a useless filler button that does nothing besides beeing there to be pressed also sucks)

Very weird reasoning for making your case imo.
- If the player didnt use them because they didnt have room for it in their rotation they wouldnt have used it even if they did.
- And with your logic, they would ONLY use those CDs if they had a gap to use those in and not the moment they are needed in? Kinda defeats the point in nearly every scenario.
Well this depends on taste on whats fun but it does generate HP, are you confusing CS with Exorcism (both old and the newly deleted version)?

No need to dramatize basic melee rotations as “spamming buttons like a maniac”. It’s plenty worth for rets to press their utility even if they lose a damage gcd and it’s absurd to assume that with Crusading Strikes you would use utility ONLY when you have nothing else to press.
Templar Strikes are not useless fillers, as they do plenty damage. The problem just is that they always will end up inferior to Crusading Strikes because they offer late game haste scaling. Crusading Strikes is so problematic that the devs constantly have to double check every other talent and buff that affects it. Winfury totem doesn’t affect Crusading Strikes because it would be insane for it, Empyrean procs are nerfed by 66% for it (and had all kinds of bugs with it before hotfix), Pocket Anvil has reduced procs with it. This talent requires so much attention and all it accomplishes is dimnishing the ingetrity of the game, as other spells have to make exceptions for it, and ruining engaging gameplay.
Play templar strikes if you don’t like it. Problem solved.
No. I will play Crusading Strikes because it’s performing better and write hateful suggestions to Blizzard every other day. The problem will be solved once it’s purged out of the game.
Did you manage to figure out why this talent became meta? Ofc its good, but not because its so simple, but because with this new 4set you have other things to press. Lot of Hammer of Wrath’s during Wings forexample. With this setbonus ists working fine, but on single target talents u should have to use other builds. If u trying to clear raids with the Crusading Strikes 3holypower build then you basically doing it wrong. If you use ret paladin on all contents, you don’t only have to use this build. This build doesn’t only working because of crusading strikes, Light of Justice, Improved Blade of justice, and the 2% hp heal, someone mentioned is another talent Lightforged Blessing. Crusading strikes may be a passive thing, but unlike demon hunters with demon blades with ret u can pres something on every GCD, This lvl 10 classic thing is also stupid, you couldn’t press anything there because there was nothing, but here there is plenty to press. Why use a filer spell when there is something else we can use instead?

Uptime? It doesn’t affect your uptime whatsoever. The boss dictates what kind of uptime you will have in melee. Templar Strikes are no filler in the sense of filling a void. The ability does plenty of damage especially with the anvil. It generates Holy Power just like Blade of Justice, so maybe they should bake that into autohits as well to accomodate slow boomers like you?

Templars Strikes has the opposite problem CSAA has. Too many button presses dedicated to a low damage ability. It also scales horribly with secondary stats. Gaining almost no benefit from either crit or haste. It’s so bad that regular Crusader Strike will eventually outscale TS. Likely before next tier.
Ret with Templar Strikes has far from too many buttons to press. It is one of the simplest melee specs, that doesn’t need to be boiled down to a coma with an autoattack talent. Ret scaling is also fine an just a matter of tuning. The rogue specs have far worse scaling and work just fine.

By uptime i meant rotation uptime, basically you always have something to press, or almost always, and for dh, your rotation is basically with no downtime at all.
Also, i guarantee you i am a better player than you. And that’s not an opinion. Boomer, lol, you have no idea who you are talking to.
If there was significant downtime in the rotation i would not like it.
Basically, i like that csaa allows you to have a rotation with close to 100% uptime, and no real filler, pretty much like demon blades.
Uptime refers to you being able to hit the boss. If you stand in front of the boss autohitting (because you have nothing else to press), you have uptime.

You do not have abilities to press 100% of the time. My ret is 444 ilvl and has 5000 haste in full ST and after the extra Holy Power from DToll and Wake are played through you are already holding your dick and praying for Blade of Justice procs.
You need to learn to read.
You need to learn to make any sense at all. You can do a sim and literally see the “Waiting” column right next to APM. CSAA Ret’s Waiting is at over 10%, which is the highest of any DPS in the game, while playing a 3 button monkey rotation.
