Remove dampening from arena

Blizz why did you even invent the artarded dampening? Why are healers in arena punished directly from start with -20% healing? I understand it was there to cancel out the ‘long’ matches but it only does favor dps and it’s plain stupid. There already have been timers on the game. After 3 minutes the healing penalty is already up to 45%… I rather have longer arena matches because than the game is decided on skill and decision making instead of ret pala + destro lock popping wings and big dmg trinkets to wreck a player in 2 globals. Yay soo much fun…

If you do not want healers in 2v2 or 3v3 just don’t allow healers to queue for arena. Then you can have your artarded burst comp with artarded 70k chaosbolts, wings popping ret pala’s and 65k greater pyroblast cast while (double) blinking.

Just bring back the healers to the game. Lower the timer and if the time is up check which team had the highest DPS or there will be a coin toss to decide the win. It’s really ridiculous to see 9k heals on my teammate.

I once played a 2 hr long game. Thanks to dampening this is not possible anymore.

I tried heal in arena, only in 2s, but what exactly do you intend to kill without dampening as double dps bc i cant see that happening.

Edit: i am not high rating whatsoever, but i always cheer when i see double dps

Thanks to SL/SL warlocks, warriors, ProtHolydins and resto druids Blizzard implemented the timer in arena back in Wrath of the Lich King. I have played 1-2 hour games as well. So the 25 minute time can go down to 20 minutes.

Decide the game on skill not because you get an advantage because someone’s character gets crippled. Maybe they should implement dampening on magic damage as well.

You mean the strategy?? Well double dps has it advantages but it’s high risk high reward. If you get a rogue with a ret pala, boomkin, mage, spriest you can nuke someone down in 3-4 seconds. However if you would be able to CC one of the dps and recover then you’ll probably lose the fight big time.

Bursting people down in 3-4 seconds take limited skill. It’s just plain stupid and it kills the game.

Because nobody wants 2v2 games that take 25 minutes and then end in a draw. Same thing could happen in 3v3 nowadays

But isn’t that rated pvp? You know what you are up against, so you know what they intend to do. You and your mate chose the right talents and try to counter it.

If you as double dps with a ton of CC can’t down a healer than you’re bad and you should be placed lower! Now a healer is crippled by losing 50% of his healing and suddenly you think you earned your rating? It was handed to you. Not all people love to DPS, I really hate ret dps. Ok not for doing a quest but in pvp or a dungeon… Not even for free epics…

So dampening is the reason you are 1.6 cr pleb ?

Dampening is also a factor yes. If I can heal my teamy for just 9-11k instead of 42k it makes quit a difference where you don’t lose on skill or decisions but on time and the related dampening. Some matches you are just out matched by a smarter opponent, a better counter comp or ridiculous burst. I don’t mind playing 1,6 or 1,8k nor do I mind losing a match if my opponent is better geared, smarter and/or better than me. Just don’t be a special needs kid who ignores that dampening is a factor that must be taken in consideration with your losses and is a ridiculous idea of blizz to shorten the games in favor of double dps.

Still not as ridiculous as calling someone who posts an argument on a forum a pleb, that’s what the real plebs do who come from a family where upbringing is non existant and where they haven’t developed and thaught any manners.

Dampening is rly needed. It affects everyone not only healers.

If they will ever remove dampening nobody will play 2v2 because healers will not oom or will be able to heal with 0 mana without healing reduction.

With the current Mana pool it is quite possible to remove dampening but then there should be an overall strong buff to damage and of course an heavy nerf to hpalas mana

i think you’d solve the problem with paladin mana at the same time if you upped the damage tbh. they don’t use mana when people take so little dmg that a holy shock every 9 seconds into a big holy light every 25 seconds will keep people healthy forever, but if they have to spam heal more then they would use way more mana.

It’s actually a pretty good idea tbh, it worked like that in wotlk so with major adjustments could work again.

Calling out others on their rating in 2019 mate… Now think about the current situation: there are 2700+ rated ppl on this forum daily, they can come here and call you 2k trash any moment in every second post they make.
Would you think it’s a logical response to your actions or would you start flaming them with irl things?
Is it really that hard to just answer normally?
