I just want to get back the old WOTLK frost. Icy touch, howling blast as a big hitter, obliterate consuming dots, plague strike etc.

Who want delete DW - blind people who cannot see beyond their noses. Frost is broken (in bad side), not because of DW.
Frost dk started to be a broken spec when blizzard started to push duel wield only if you have played legion it took them all the way to end of legion when the 4 piece tier armor plus artifact weapon to push obliteration as the go to and not breath to be the go to for duel wield frost just to be remotely in an ok state,
And for bfa duel wield frost has been a joke sins start to finish it took a fully corrupt geared dk to move out of breath thanks to synergy whit azerite armor and corruption whit ice cap all this borrowed power ontop a half arsed 1 hand spec,
Are frost broken no we are undertuned on all forms pve/pvp/survival do we next XP need work to our core rotation and spells/talent tree both pve/pvp yes but dont count on something like this happen for the next 1-2 years from now this is honestly unfortunate but blizzard has cemented that they will squeeze any opportunity to add borrowed power on to classes instead of shipping them 90-100%ish condition and that honestly will stick as a problem as long the leads over there like to play i know better than you game.

we needed a total revamp in the way Spriests got, but we are DK’s, not priests, blizz have no interest in this class bar UH and making it the hard mode Bm hunter with GCD’s out the ears in PvE content

No remove TwoHanded. Frost is Dual Wield.
Frost should be one-handed or two-handed. I played DK for 7 years beginning from WOTLK. DW Frost was my absolute love, especially frost tanking, and I miss them both. I miss how I was at the top of the meters as frost during Cata. They took Frost tanking away from us a long time ago (which was dual-wielded btw), please don’t suggest they take dual wielding away from us completely. It’s all we have left to remind us of what Frost DKs once were. Frost DKs have been absolute trash for many years and for the last few expacs, just like poor Feral druids. I feel sorry for us. At least feral druids are finally getting some love.

For me, DW thematically makes no sense for frost. The barbaric two big weapon wielding fantasy is already fulfilled by fury warriors. What’s the identity behind Frost DW?
DW frost dk be like: “I’m really slow but once I’ll get to you I’ll wave my arms around really quickly!!”
I’ve been seeing calls for having frost tank like it used to be which I’d absolutely love to see again (even though I have very few memories from it in WoTLK). Imagine it like a frosty version of warhammer Chaos warriors. The heaviest of all tanks, wielding huge shields and even a 2H weapon. Picture it, giant sword and shield or even cooler, spear and shield (something which I don’t understand doesn’t exist in this game yet). I tried including an image but won’t let this link (look up chaos warrior warhammer art on pics, look for giant dark nights wielding huge swords and shields looks awesome)
They can even create some interesting interplay where they wield just the 2H weapon and put their shield in their back, doing more dps but loosing some tankiness.
I’d argue further that DW would actually fit a reimagined dps blood spec. The blood stealing vampire, has more finesse a little bit more elegant, think of all those vampire belfs we had to fight during WotLK.

Frost tanking from what I can remember was pretty slick in WOTLK, however I remember there being some confusion between Blood and Frost, and can’t remember the go to spec in pvp when it came out (may have been blood?).
I remember frost aura, which increased armour and threat generated.
I’m seeing soo many clueless comments here.
Dual wield frost was the way to go in PVE, the only time 2h frost was good was in arena when the 21k frost strikes etc were the norm and made a lot of pressure on the healers.
Using two handed in raiding gimped your DPS massively.
Hell I’m not sure if many people here even remember the rotation for PVE back then and the blood strike death rune conversions and needing to use plague strike.

How clueless are you not to see that upon 2h’s removal, frost was gutted to oblivion and changed to fit the 2h playstyle at the same time.

Yeah wasn’t it during the Wod / Legion prepatch where all classes got chopped up and changed, where frost got forced into DW? I mean I remember frost working quite well in Legion, but that was mostly due to the artifact weapon borrowed power. Seems particularly underwhelming since.
If they buff Frost and remove BoS build which is the most boring spec (even compared to BM) , it has nothing to do with DW. I for one entirely enjoy DW frost and the moment they fix it i will come back to my lvl 58 DK. As it stands now it pains me to even logon to that char with the 2h equiped and hitting like wet noodle while being plate class with endurance of wet toilet paper.
Until then i propose to rename the spec from “Frost” to “Wet”.

Need some renames on our abilities as well and tooltips could be changed to the already existing feather icons.
Obliterate > Aggrevate
Frost Strike > Feather Strike
Death Strike > Dead Strike
Howling Blast > Yawning Blast
Frostwyrm’s Fury > Frostwhelp’s Fury
Pillar of Frost > Pillow of Frost
Remorseless Winter > Remorseful Winter
Empower Rune Weapon > Depower Rune Weapon

I can’t remember exactly because I didn’t play the game much as a DK after MoP was released.
I just remember raiding all the way through WOTLK as DW except Naxxramas and after Cata I stopped doing PVE as a DK.
Then you probably started when threat of Thassarian was introduced, 3.2 or 3.1 i am unsure myself.
