You do not even need to macro it anymore, just enable mouseover for everything in the settings !

DPS are lazy, hence that happens. Healers do orbs WHEN people are not close to dying. Also, for melee groups, any idea how hard it is sometimes to even target them?
For DPS all/most affixes is either a healer or a tank job. Sure, on my resto shaman I take care of a lot of them, but there’s moments where I can’t, either due to healing tasks, or too many spawn at the same time.
Obviously healing goes first when you need to save people, but you will find out as a healer you are doing about 75% of all the explosives. That does still look like a healer affix to me.

Its always paired with affixes where the healer has not really something to do.
In a tyrannical week and played decent, there is not much to heal in groups. Pugs are a separate hellish reality.

If I do the ballcrushing, they can keep killing mobs → less balls spawn → less balls to kill, I can do damage → more mobs die → less balls spawn

Yes, it works exactly like the good old mouseover macro.
It saved me so many macro slots on healing specs.
You just need to watch out on what you are mousing over when you cast living flame to avoid healing when you want to damage and vice versa

Tab sometimes decides it has to go through all the other mobs, also seems that action targeting sometimes bugs out and deselects a target despite supposedly being “sticky” of sorts.

While certainly one of the easier affixes, still annoying AF because it’s nearly impossible to see them spawn when multiple things go on at the same time. Especially atrocious in places like AV.
Spiteful is near impossible to see spawn in the mob blob. Only reason I notice is because I have addons yelling at me and nameplates changing color when they are on me.
You mean cookie clicker 2.0? Horrible affix that puts people with control handicaps at a major disadvantage this week.
There is no auto addon nor can you target them with macros I believe. There’s no way to kill explosives “before they are on screen”.

Ahh Retributor is back. You even play M+ this season? Every pack has multiple mobs that need a CC or interrupt, you’re constantly switching targets if you’re doing it right, which is annoying enough without explosives.
Yes but also no. Non of them are fun, they add no fun to the game, just some are less atrocious to deal with. Explosives is deffo more punishing because they can spawn out of your range/screen and if you don’t notice you’re screwed.
Only works for some classes/specs, and only if you have proper accuracy with your mouse hand.

I am surprised that this change still flew under some radars. Blizzard is really bad at communicating new features.
I can assure you that the purging of the macro bloat feels great.
By the end you will only have some Rescue (you can macro Rescue to take both you and the target back to where you were standing like a lifegrip) and Firestorm macros left

Depending on who you ask there is a bit more nuance than this especially with affixes which are effectively cookie cutter mechanics that are sometimes a really bad match for the situation

It is the usual spell-with-a-cast-circle syndrome (like with spells such as Blizzard). People like to make a macro with [@cursor] in order to skip the cast circle and the mouse click cast circles need.
I’d love to be able to cleave them, though that’d be a bit too much to ask for.
My other thought would be to allow us to use a targetting macro. The fact that they are “one-shot” mobs doesn’t really excuse the tedium of having to click on them manually in the maelstrom of combat.
Raise their health a bit and allow the macro or else the affix might as well just be “waste a GCD every few seconds”.

I dont play with the circle. I would macro it like death and decay on my death knight. Alt + click for on mouse and on myself just click.
But not sure if the buff was enough to make it strong. need to test it.
