Remove them and add checkpoint so you can just click on the map and teleport there .
Once you have discovered a part of a map just add a checkpoint style or npc style .
They are a huge time sink which doesn’t make any sense anymore , so we got teleporters between continents and so much magic but we still raiding birds or whatever ?
Some distances are like 4:21 minutes , how does that time add any value to any game play ?
This are just useless time sinks .
A few of you will say it’s tradition , keep them in classic then .

You’re playing the wrong game; an MMORPG is meant to be a time-sink… sorry.

I think flight masters are decent way to take little breaks, teleport would make me feel like I am wasting time by not rushing asap.

Just buy the maps to get them for each zone.
I still remember my first flight back in 2005, it was from Orgrimar to the Barrens. I was amazed by it, seeing players running around on the ground below.
Long flights are fine, if you’re flying from Tanaris to Ashenvale, but the current five minute flights from Covenant Sanctum to another zone is indefensible.
If the game had been designed better with faster flights (and some kind of portal skip between the zones rather than interminable flight times it would have been so much better.
At least Flights give us a chance to alt-tab and moan on the forums. They could reduce the moaning on the forums with shorter flights…
WoW public transport has changed over to teleportation.
You’re stuck with flying.
It’s not just the flight times (I made a thread on them a while back and 4:20 sounds about right) its also the fact that you have to go to your covenant or whereever to even pick up the quest. God help you if an emissary procs when you completed the quest. You get to fly again!
It’s not an exaggeration to say you can spend 15 minutes flying in an hours play if you did that kind of stuff (which I don’t because of things like this)

That’s exactly my problem , i do some callings most of the time i’m on a bird flying , alt+tabbed or reading something .
Not to mention i got a few alts .
I think they should rather add an option to skip the flight.
I agree that fast travel needs to be faster, but it is also a feature, if you want to stop by and land bc you have seen something on the map like a rare and such.
Have you tried the Portal Rooms? Or have you ever used you Dalaran Hearthstone, so that you can take the Portal to Orgrimmar (or Stormwind if you enjoy playing by yourself), just so you can take the Portal to somewhere else?
It’s a pretty boring game of loading screens, and that’s pretty much what it will turn into.
I think what others have said about taking a break during flying is a good idea. But Shadowlands and it split up zones really doesn’t do the argument for Flight points much justice.
You do know you don’t have to collect the emissary chest immediately? You’ll continue earning rep towards the next one if you wait to collect it until the next time you pass nearby.
Personally, I like the system of flight points for transport and I’d be sad to see it removed. If I’m not in a hurry, I sometimes choose it over a portal so I can relax and look at the view while I’m flying. (I remember getting a new PC back in 2012, after playing on an underpowered laptop, and the graphics upgrade was so amazing that I took a flight the full length of Kalimdor just so I could gaze in awe at Azeroth passing below me.)

Does that make the travel time go away?
I don’t really get your point. The travel has to happen.
Why remove/replace rather than adding more options?

Why?
So, I get a Venthyr emissary chest to collect. I leave it for a couple of days because I have no reason to be in Revendreth. Then I get invited to a HoA key, the group summons me, and while we’re waiting for the last person, I pop over to the collection point for my chest. No ‘travel’ required. (Since I’m sure you’ll check, yes, this does ignore the fact that I’m currently Venthyr and have HoA timed at +20. It’s an example.)
What I would like to see is portals from Oribos to the covenant sanctums as well as back. They could put them next to the covenant reps in Oribos, which would be much more convenient for those of us who switch frequently. (And if I desperately wanted my Venthyr emissary chest right now, I could switch to Venthyr, portal to Sinfall and then use the mirror network.)
We should somehow be in all zones at any one time without even needing to portal. Or just have one zone.
When i uses Flight masters in either classic or retail i check dungeon or raid loot for my character i am online with and hope it get dropped. ^^
I think it’s better to simply increase the ‘‘taxi’’ flight speed by 2x…
I like the flights - annoying if you don’t have much time on a particular day, but in general a good time to look at the scenery, get a drink, have a ‘comfort break’ or check the forums. The one thing that does annoy me is that all flights between covenants have to go via Oribos. That adds an unnecessary amount of time when a direct flight would work much better.

Dunno. It never bothered me till the last exp. Probably cuz i loved watch the panorama (not always ofc). But with the passage in the nether is a little boring.
Ff when you discover a zone you can teleport for gold, in swtor you have fast taxi and a teleporter with short cd. Gw2 a teleporter really cheap.
Probably i would maintain the current system.
Add flight paths between covenants, faster than fly to Oribos from covenants.
