Just ignore the GS muppets, thats what i do.

Pretty much everyone was complaining about it back in the day.

Using GS is the gaming world equivalence to Dunning-Kruger.

i just assume anyone who is this much against gearscore is a bad player and has too much social anxiety to form their own groups since they get declined all day long, unlucky i guess?

Doing my best given they’re everywhere infecting both the game and forums with their petty short-sightedness.

And what says its not the 4k gs tank who takes a 5 min pause after every pull? There is no way to use GS to tell anything really about a player other than how high ilvl they have in reality.

Im just saying that if you use GS to try to figure out how good someone else is you are really bad at the game.

Even more so seeing as the GDKP plague is wide spread now and anyone with more money than sense can buy their way to amazing GS.

You forgot to mention that a toxic community will always make socializing less desirable and in return make people do less, but as this doesn’t affect you the slightest, of course you’d ride your high horse and look down on everyone else.

And I don’t know about you, but some of us want to be a valued member of a team, opposed to just a spec with an ilvl. Playing on a dead server so this is not possible, but “unlucky” I guess?

Also, I did heroic raiding back in the days, and have been in the 0.1% m+ bracket in retail, so your assumptions are as flawed as Gearscore itself.

literally nobody does this

That is your right do to do. You can even use achivements instead of explaining bosses if you want to do that.

When i make a group for 10man i put a dnd up that says that anyone whispering me their GS will be banned from the raid.

But there are people who do that, same with looking for achievements if someone have cleared a place, both are negated by the prevalence of GDKP as even a slight indication of if someone should be in the raid or not in reality.

Respect!

I often created pugs just to invite non-meta classes so they could get their weekly item from vault. The whispers afterwards from “pumpers” were hilarious too.

We shouldn’t forget that WoW’s success came from making MMORPGs digestible for your average player.

You can’t remove gearscore. Like really the addon can only become popular and mainstream if you play into it. We all know that GS is mostly for peasants, so don’t stoop to that level.

If somebody asks me for my GS I tell them no, and so far I have been invited 100% of the time. When I run my own groups I tell people I don’t care about GS and if they /w me their gearscore as a bargaining tool to get into my group, I will inspect them and if I see any deadly gladiator or similar suspect items I will just deny them.

If they don’t /w me GS I will just inspect them quickly and invite. If it was hard content, and none currently exists, but if it was I would check logs.

I do. Gearscore has a bad reputation for a reason.

but wasn’t gearscore a addon that some 3rd party made and not something that blizzard made

Yeah, and the literal only way to remove it is to completely disable inspecting people.

Gearscore is not a hidden stat in the game, it’s something addons write on the gear/character tooltip.
Like vendor value, where it drops, how much it is on the ah etc

Pretty much impossible to “remove it”.

And totally DOESN T WORKED LOL

I’m using gearscore just to filter out really bad geared players and always inspect players if they have gems, enchants, and the right amount of, haste, crit, expt, hit, etc.

With me being almost 4k Gs I now only run naxx with 3.8k + people, minus the healers if they are fully enchanted gemmed, etc.
