Remove Knockdown, thank you

(Really just had to rant. Feel free to ignore it. Although I mean the message, nothing to discuss. If there is a big agreement on it, best to start a topic purely about it.)

Doing the paladin charger questline.
I’m annoyed with it beyond words.
Frankly I feel an idiot for sticking with it and feel like committing suicide.
(My current problem: DM:F - oh, needs a key. DM:E - oh, no Pusillin. Oh wait, there is another entrance, he is there. Took me 35 minutes of Google, because everyone is supposed to just know. Normally I should handle it but life is stupid and I just wanted to progress this quest. Probably I should have just loaded some Tetris or Snake. Too late! Rant over.)

However, this stupid, braindead, idiot knockdown that’s supposed to stop me - from what, exactly?!?! - is just stupid, braindead, idiot. It’s 0% useful, 0% hindrance, 100% stupid, 100% just slow, 100% unimpactful, 100% stupid. Did I say 100% stupid?

Please, remove it yesterday. Thank you.

Why are you doing the quest though?

These forums are for feedback on the game, so rant away!

I was about to say about the quest, but you’re a bloodelf I noticed and I did it on Alliance. Count yourself lucky it’s the horde version of the charger quest, if you aren’t aware the Alliance chain is very long compared.

I mean, since you can just learn it at the trainer, the only reason for doing the quest is for your own amusement regardless.

I guess the knockdown made it ‘challenging’ when it still mattered.

Thanks  I did the alliance version.
I did the horde version on this a long time ago - as you say, it was more simple.

It really doesn’t scale well past 1.x classic, I did second DM this morning (almost died in a stunlock, between being the foot-ball), then I was sent to Scholomance. Didn’t have the key either. Fortunately I figured that running up to the roof and jumping down drops my health enough that after 5-7 laps I died, so I could bypass the door. Would have been quite the journey otherwise.

One thought I edited out from OP was that this quest may have been fun and semi-automatic during classic, should do all relevant things around getting 60.

I did so because I didn’t want to complain about the quest. Yes, there are stupid aspects of it (having to pay to progress, mostly), but ultimately it’s a choice. The journey around the world is a choice, even if unexpected. And I realised I was in a really foul mood. On a good day, it’s a nice journey, making me see all these places, right?

In any event, what truly annoyed me was the stuns. On top of the stuns and knockbacks. There wasn’t anything to do about it (you just black out for 2-3 seconds, frequency depends on the pull size). As violet man above says, it’s not particularly challenging, nothing to do about it, you press your buttons and either win the numbers game or you don’t. Since there is hardly any point of pulling way too much, in the end it’s just slowing things down. I guess I should like it as some resemblance of a challenge, on the macro level, how much my char can handle.

Well I don’t recall exactly which mobs you encounter, they added extra knockback for classic dungeons in TBC to avoid low level dungeon boosting and content being soloable by paladins.

Something, something, against the spirit of game.

So maybe that affected your journey somewhat from how the original was designed.

It should really be removed now, you don’t get XP with a large level difference in the group and old mats/gear being worthless, it’s just a tax on enjoying solo content.

Oh flip sake I’ve realised now you’re talking about those changes they made because players doing the really bad bad thing of soloing instances (shock). Yeah that sounds awful, I’d be frustrated by that too!

Once again legit players get punished more than rule breakers with all their idiotic changes and ideas.
