So I had a problem with someone and I want to delete her on bnet, but she probably has me as a charachter friend on her main. If I delete my charachter and get it back, will it delete me from her charachter friend list?
just stick them on ignore best you can do iirc.
It’s a bit more complicated than putting it on ignore
Report the person for harassment and Blizz will do the rest.
No idea if that still works, it used to though.
Curious if anyone has an answer though… fake offline on bnet isn’t effective when people have your character as a friend either
Thanks. So if I delete myself now, cause she’s not online then I’ll be gone forever from her charachter friendlist?
I wass just gone say that.
elaborate.
tell all story
I’m going to change the name of course. A bit sad about it, that charachter was close to me
This
Can be very bothersome when you just feel so done with real life you want to solo play WoW, but your friends have your character saved and come poking your pleasant solitude to recharge off the cliff.
Flawed system i tell you.
Discourages me from playing the said characters that they have it saved and just login on alts instead.
I am so sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine what it would take for me to change Gráinne’s name, and I can’t imagine how I would feel about it.
You can report harrassment.
You can remove a BattleTag connection (and change your own BattleTag, once)
You can /ignore every character of your former friend.
But you can’t make your character not show up by name on your realm.
Before taking extreme measures, I would suggest first simply not logging on that character for a week or two. Play some other characters, or level a new one. Maybe the problem will go away with time.
If you do finally decide to change names, consider making a Level 1 of that name, with a different class, and simply leaving it untouched forever, so that the name is available for you in case you get the opportunity to change back in the future.
Why go through so much trouble to avoid someone? Just ignore them?
But you wouldnt ignore your friends
Its a tug-o-war of wanting to be by yourself and wanting to be nice to your buds.
There should be an option to stay invisible as a character
Obviously if they want to remove themselves from the friendlist they aren’t friends anymore
Someone wants to share their pain.
Go on, we’re listening.
What if they are having a terrible day and just want to play by themselves? They still care about the friends, they just want to recharge.
Things that introverts do.
Maybe something terrible happened to them and rendered them to isolate?
Something that a lot of people do out of necessity if you dont have other thing than WoW as the game is very therapeutic.
Just because you want to stay invisible doesnt mean you dont want to be friends, thats silly
OP clearly said they have a problem with the person and want to delete them.
If you are having a bad day put yourself on busy or appear offline on bnet. Or like…don’t play an online game that has other people in it if you don’t want to communicate with others

People who play WoW also find the game therapeutic to help deal with stress The game is that good. Give them the benefit of the doubt. After me poking people from them being invisible have a very surprisingly good reason that you have to be sensitive about. Being a d!ck to them is what going to end the friendship, not by the invisi-person.
How about just honestly telling them “sorry I am having a bad day and just want to play by myself” if they truely are your friends they understand.
But again OP is indicating the friendship with the person is over so that is not the point of the thread.
Anxiety can prevent you from talking, which is why it is tough to do so in high stress. Shy players can relate with this
But it is another reason it is flawed and should be improved for everybody else
