I would even go as far as removing pet battle in wow would even make more players happy than sad. On that note, i don’t care like a inch for pet battles but the mistake u have made blizzard over and over are making people try that piece of … feature into the main game. U should never even consider putting pet battle for a requirement for anything in wow. SO F… STUPID.
Yes, im talking about the hatchling in 8.3 and the falcosaurs in legion (im on that now). and my mind is broken of how stupid it is to make a quest “complete 3 pet battle WQ with falcosaurs and 2 unremovable pets.” Some pet battle can’t u even win when u got a pet team as that.
I have seen people commenting about “its easy and just read a guide”. That doesn’t work when u have broken quests every freaking day, that doesn’t work.
My issue with pet battles and why it will not even reach the level of pokémon red/blue is the fact that you need to consistently swap your team around to cheese the “boss” battle or the oppossing NPC’s team.
When playing Pokémon sure you could switch some to make the fights easier but there was always a way around it : making your pokémon learns abilities that could decimate the enemy, potions etc.
None of that here, some pets were nerfed to oblivion and others were always useless. It doesn’t feel like a mini-game but more of extra chores with no depth.
If it was more free and you could select abilities and not be stuck with the weaknesses/hard-counters/OP bosses, then it’d be more interesting.
Good, GOOOOOOD. I’ve too come to that final stage in the Hatchling questline for 8.3 i am so glad i ain’t mad af over this myself.
I’ve also realised unless i buy a boost, there is no way i can finish that last bollocks stage and get the mount. I’ll have to buy a boost or hope at some time in the next 6 years blizz nerf’s the damage of those Leggo pets. By ALOT.
For the love of god, don’t boost, it will only make it harder for you.
The enemy’s level scales with your highest one in the team. So just do it at level 1 (or 2 if you leveled up your hatchling) and find 2 other pets which are super effective against that legendary (which you can look up in a guide).
I agree to exclude pet battle from requirements to any content, like weekly quest, but i kinda like them, esp. on low level alts, when you have to traverse barrens, those few pet battles can yield few levels instead of brainless run
I tried that several times. I won once, but it’s still a massive waste of why.
Why should i waste over half of my pets just to defeat a leggo pet battle pet to get a mount? -.-
And i also ****** up when i started that last stage. Because my hatchling at that point was level 5. Since then i’ve already to leveled up a ton more of my pets including hatchling and try to beat those annoying leggo bastards. I fail every time. Thats why i want a boost, i am at a point now where idgaf about anyones advise to beat it. Since i’ve followed them all, even read wowhead.
I “need” to do it cause im rly like to farm mounts. So blizzard actually presses me into this feature for getting completion. But as said Pet battles are and minority and small feature which u put in mount collection which have since start.
I just gotta say I hated this “questline” too because it started with tons of dailies with no indication that it will eventually require pet battles. So I start doing it, and right before the end, surprise surprise, you have to do 3 or 4 (I don’t remember) challenging pet battles.
Believe it or not, the hight end content of Pokemon is now like that. You can play all the story just like you said but after completing the story there are some content called coliseum, tower, etc (the name change game by game) where all the NPCs have max level pokemon with moves that are hard to fight (like fire pokemon with electrical moves to obliterate water pokemon). Because your pokemon and NPC ones have the same level it is impossible to outlevel and even some of the NPC ones have hight stats so it is required to use breeding to obtain pokemon with hight stats that you can’t increase without breeding. Anything but pokemon with 5/6 max stats with breeding is useless and many species are useless too.
Well, that is just the very high end content, mostly towers with dozens of different combats without any story. The combats for the story it is just the same as red/blue/gold/silver and even I think in recent games the story it is even easier than the original games. On red blue you usually have one pokemon that can obliterate any NPC, usually the starter, one and the only hard part was someone with a pokemon that counters your starter, it could be hard too if you tried to level the team of 6 pokemon. Recent game have items to give experience to all your team so you usually have a full team of 6 pokemon that obliterate NPCs. Pokemon is now easier than ever but at the same time has some special hight end content that it is harder than ever.
