Let me tell you this for start - removing profession crafting cooldowns is going to hurt me much more than the majority of the playerbase, because I have prepared 16 alts (all of them near 60 now) just for those crafting cooldowns.
So why do I want the cooldowns gone? It is simple - because level 58 boost means for the current classic players (not those that are going to start playing with tbc) a straight gold buying option with real money.
If all that you need is just 1 alt to craft all spellcloths, shadowcloths, mooncloths or transmutes then it is more than likely that everyone by now can already do that - so the boost actually remains true to its proposed purpose of being able to catchup with your friends as a class that you want to play and not a means to buy gold with real money
Removing the profession cooldowns won’t do much for new players. Cooldowns will be cheap with the amount of profession alts people have ready to go. The materials used for the cooldowns on the other hand…
materials for the cooldowns are going to be sky high regardless, because you need them for many more things than just the cooldowns
also i’ve come to realise that maybe better solution would be to forbid lvl 58 characters to craft profession cooldowns before reaching lvl 70 and 375 skill in that profession
If there was no limit to the amount of boosts you could buy i would agree, but its limited to one per account, thats not going to break anything when it come to proffession cds.
how come? 1 boost for every player basically means that everyone has a cheap fast option for cooldown crafting - except those “totally new” players
I am also aware that Elemental plateau is not the only farmspot in the game.
I am also aware that several farmspots operate on a zone-level-mobcount system, making it almost impossible to run out of mobs, regardless of how many players are currently farming.
Because while everyone have the option to do it, the amount of people that actually will do it just to get proffession cd’s are not going to be as high as you think.
And if for instance everyone did buy a boost and get proffession cd’s running, Only thing that would happen, is that it become less profitable to have the proffessions, so eventually people will drop the proffessions, or just not bother with using their cd’s, which then turn the prices up again.
But main thing is, that the crafting of the cloth is not a cheap and fast option. because its the materials for the crafts that are going to be the hardest part to get. And anyone that are going to use the cloth, already have tailoring.
The more people that have access to the proffession cd’s thus better life is going to be for the people that need the cloth, but harder for the people that just want to make gold with them.
