Currently in order to edit the name and the description you need to add authenticator. This was put in place in order to fight bot and sell group advertisements in group finder which is understandable but just fight them other ways. Perhaps ban them or something or ban the entire boosting as a whole. Add higher level requirement to create parties there or high ilvl or something that a random fresh bot account can’t have easily.
It is ridiculous that I can’t even edit the title of a 4 years old raid that I want to do a skip run and not a full clear. I do not wish to add authenticator. It is a hassle to use every time. My account is already secured enough with verified email and phone number added why is authenticator even necessary? Phone number alone should be good enough. Find other ways to fight bots.
And even then it literally takes me 2 minutes to find botters and multiboxers exploiting the game roaming free by the dozen. Hell I report them daily and get the mail the other day that they were caught etc. Focus on fixing the game for real.
I would like to see more of these restrictions in other areas of the game if they really help against bot infestation. The PvP queue system definitely needs one, as does the AH.
My guess is that the restriction is in place for other reasons, or multiple reasons, of which only one of them is the crusade against bots. And yes, it has to do with our data.
they are not helping anything against the bot infestations they are just concealing their existence since you don’t see them opening raids with sell site names.
The restriction to edit name and description only makes it annoying for legit players. Can’t even make a group to do achievement for Glory for any raid without being able to edit the title. Like what is this?
Hmm, I have authenticator via bnet app. It asks me once every like 3 months if even for approval just playing wow. It is not a hassle at all.
Just get it.
