Remove the experience boost

It lessens the game just power levelling through all the content.

Can it be changed so that characters only receive the experience boost up to the max level from the previous phase. So levels 1-25 would get the boost but from 25 onwards it’s normal levelling speed. This would help people get there alts up to phase 2 levels and they can carry on from there.

At the very least can you make it so you have to have a character at level 40 to receive the boost on other characters.

How about no?

You could just turn it off? Or do you just want to make other people play the game the way you want them too?

Everyone should be on a level playing field yes.

The speed at which you level alts does not change said playing fields evenness.

They made this experience buff to avoid fixing their broken balance so they forcing people to reroll to another classes. So they will not remove it, but I agree - this buff is bad. All people moves to leveling and battlegrounds became even more $hitty.

It’s a symptom.
Of not enough people getting to 40.

Question is, did it fix what it tried to?
Is the 40 scene busy?
Are people having with their collection of characters (alts)?

Especially considering the content of SoD is the seasonal raid and PvP.
So the target audience isn’t leveling folks and dungeon dwellers.

I don’t think they really care and count how many people playing on 40 and how many are not since both are paying them money for the subscription. But they aware of balance issues and they don’t want people to quit the game so they allow people to have dopamine boost via experience boost, it will prolong the agony of dying phase.

Yes it worked so for 1 months after phase launch (when most of people levelling), now we have second “catch up” part of phase so they made this buff for all levels. But i think they should have left it 50%, 100% on so early phase is too much. Maybe 100% for 60lvl phase because lvl 1-60 in classic is really long and you run out of quests, but for 40lvl 100% buff is too much. The worst thing is if they are trying to “normalize” levelling speed on all phases to 15-20hours and will increase this buff to 200% on next phase and 300% on 60lvl to make total levelling time same as we have now (“retail” speed of levelling).

I would agree …
… but the change was added after the initial doomsaying like one week into the phase, no people raiding, see, everyone quit, SoD is dead. Depending on thread it was either meant as a sad or happy thing.
The standard counter being: but people are still leveling.
Based on Joana’s speedrun, 1-25 was like 20 hours but 25-40 about 28-30.

I don’t see the connection between balance issues, I wouldn’t reroll every phase anyway.
The thought confirms my line of thinking, though, that in SoD, only endgame matters, just like retail.
So now we’ve two distinct arguments in favor of having the boost.

How about you go play on a dead private server and level there till the rest of your looser life, we are here to play the new content not to do the same stupid boring quests

Yeah, right… new content. Of course, we playing for new content, not for the “same stupid boring quests/dungeons/raids/battlegrounds”.

…wait a minute…

Do you guys know about retail version of this game, right?

Problem is when you meet lvl40 content you are welcomed with “gnom geared, 6/6 xp, orange parse, job interview” for PVE or getting deleted in 1s in PVP  who want to stay there?

As a fresh 40 it must be awful.

I love the XP boost personally. Nothing wrong with having it there.

You can already buy mage boosts and level up to 40 in a day or two. This way you are at least encouraged to run around and do quests in the open world.

Getting pre-bis is extremely fast and easy for all classes. If you have 400gs you are gnomer ready to most pug groups standards.

My alt hit 40 2 days ago and I’m already 480gs

The game is dying due to being abandoned by the devs

The exp boost was given so that we have somthing to occupy ourself with. Without it people wouldn’t be levelling alts and would just leave.

It does, But you can turn it off if you don’t like it i think.

SoD has attracted a lot of the Retail crowd and blizzard probably have data showing people dropping off before 40, so they want to rush everyone there.

Go to innkeepers anywhere, they turn it off if you ask them to.

Loosers like you that are 50year old still playing this game is the biggest issue we currently have

I’m gonna give you some information that is about to be mind blowing for you:

If you talk to an innkeeper, you’ll see a dialogue option that wasn’t there before they introduced this experience buff. If you choose it, it will allow you (ready?): REMOVE THAT EXPERIENCE BUFF!!!

No need to thank me bro, happy to help!

You can close this thread now.
