Is it possible to undo a guild disband? It is just to the surprise of the members our guild was disbanded without warning by as un yet announced account (the officers rotated leadership).
We have been established for around 14 years and while we can recreate it means that every old account (and we have many) will no longer have a guild if they return.
As such an old guild we do have members who disappear for years on end.
I fully understand that a guild belongs to the guild leader, and they have the right to disband and get all the stuff but its not the stuff that we are bothered about it’s the people and the history.
Sadly /gdisband exists it removes the guild and all the contents of the bank are emailed. What I don’t know is who did it if it was a guild master dethrone issue. I was just wondering if it was possible and if so who do we need to poke to raise tickets.
Update: It was a guild dethrone followed by a /gdisband
I didn’t think it was possible once the guild reached a certain level… which if active for 14 years… it would have… very odd.
Whilst I am not a Blizzard Employee, I am afraid I dont think it is possible. If the person in leadership decided to disband a guild, Blizzard would not override that decision… he was the leader after all… it was his intention and Blizzard dont get involved in guild matters.
You would have to contact the players and form a new one.
Are you sure it was a disband and not a mass kick (which can be done with addons) or a guild transfer to another server?
The guild in question was The Flea Circus on Ghostland’s I have had confirmation from the Guild master that it was indeed a member of the guild who used the dethrone option to take control of the guild and disband it. Apparently they admitted to officers after doing so.
Apparently there is a long back story involved which we are yet to be told about.
While I have figured out the character that carried it out I am more interested if it can technicality be restored.
The main issue seems to be that the dethrone allows 3 ranks below the guild master can take control. We were setup 0 GM, 1 Officers, 2 Members who had been around some time with authenticators, and 3 Members.
So a level 3 member logged on took over from the current GM and disbanded the guild then as far as I can see deleted the character in question.
As a test I have just disbanded my 11 year old bank alt guild which at one point was very active but currently only had 1 account a 1 char and it let me do that with no issue.
There are some very specific circumstances that we would potentially assist with something like that, if we get contacted by the actual Guild Leader. This means that while possible, it is in no way guaranteed.
I would suggest that you ask the former Guild Leader to reach out to the support from here.
I used to be a Ghostlander myself but then I took a Terokkar to the knee so I am more than aware of how long Flea Circus has been going. I hope you guys get this resolved and good luck!
Thankyou, and fingers crossed, yes it was an oversight and while I was aware of the risk I ignored taking responsibility of becoming an officer and indeed I should have shouted out the issue given the guild structure.
After much niggling this is a rather fragile situation and should be approached as such if Blizzard could restore us that would be great, but my primary concern is supporting the individual responsible as I am sure they / them is having a horrible time about it.
