how it is 20 minutes ? maybe it is 20 minutes for now because of HC hype. But when hype is dead, it will be longer and longer. For a world buff to drop someone should return hearth of hakkar or head from onyxia and bwl ? What will happen when hype is dead, and what if i play in the morning when no one returning things ? Or what if i play late @ night when everyone sleeping ?
Naxx is also way more fun than any Mythic +X dogcrap retail has to offer.
So I should mention that my own personal stance is different anyway. World buff farming and the whole cost of consumables is a big reason why I didn’t raid in Classic at all, not even one MC run. I spent the entire time either levelling or PvP’ing, had a blast too on my own time.
So I was fully on-board for no world buffs, but it seems it had a negative effect on the game, and I’ve watched videos from content creators and interviews with Blizzard going into more detail about this showing the same. I love the idea of playing with world buffs, but not really the idea of farming them.
TBC and WOTLK raiding is more my style, but I love PvP in Classic, Alterac Valley when you’re not facing a russian premade is peak.
you’re clearly biased. it depends on the raid. but i got it it’s too hard for you
Classic Era is an MMO. Join a guild. I returned to Classic in 31 march 2021 after having burnout on my druid (hello DFT council guild rules) and rerolled to be a mage in another guild, whom I am maining till this day. Well back then I wasn’t really core raider, just ZG and AQ 20 and AQ40 runner, hoping to get into Classical 40 ppl Naxx.
However I showed up regularly at guild WB runs, and coordinated guild effort that helped saving time doing these. Summons, synchromised via server discord head and hearth buff events, when guild leaders posted when their player would roll out the buffs on top of Felwood flower timings. Worked like a clock on our 4K ish PvE realm. And then you could just chronoboon it all in.
I disliked WB meta general concept as it further pushed ahead classes scaling with crit like fire mages and warriors, forcing you to play one, but then TBC came out and Blizzard broke WB meta for good. At some point in time I started to remember foundly of thouse events as whole servers effort made the open world alive. But maybe it is just my nostalgy for the time our PvE realm was alive, before we had to mass transfer our guild to PvP…
I wouldn’t know cause I don’t play bad games
except retail isn’t bad how good it is depends on the expansion
I have yet to hear or see anything that makes me believe it isn’t bad.
For example I would never play a version of WoW that has the WoW Token. That’s the minimum requirement for me to even consider playing it.
there 2 retail expansions who were universally well received (by those who actually played the game) Pandaria and legion. Pandaria doesn’t have token. Legion has however the content itself in Legion was still great.
Because people are lazy and because running gdkp isnt easy without it
true, they are so untalented and unaware of mechanics that they cannot even manage to finish AQ40 without world buffs.
Bring the player not the buffs !
I disliked world buffs mainly because of how disproportionatly they affected classes. They all but doubled the dps of classes based on agi and str, especially warriors did basically early tbc level of damage in mc. They increased tank threat gen massively, yet they did just a small mana pool increase and couple percent crit and haste for casters and almost nothing for healers.
I personally didn’t enjoy collecting them, especially on a PvP realm, but I can understand how putting extra effort for massive boost that only lasts until you make a mistake or wipe can be both fun and exhilerating. It would be much better if they gave an equal power to everyone, like from the top of my head 10% crit 10% haste 50mp5 and 200ap 150 sp 300 heal. Or something like that. The fact it gave melee haste and flat stat increases was just spitting on spellcasters.
Right now i am waiting more than 30 minutes to have head buff in stormwind. I am not playing, just forced by blizzard to stand in stormwind to get a buff. Bad game design.
I enjoy Worldbuffs, but they should do what the name entails. Buff you in the world, not inside a raid.
I do understand that there is a huge amount of people who enjoy raiding with these worldbuffs and enjoy blasting through the raids in less than an hour but I can absolutely say: I am not one of them.
While I do appreciate being OP while leveling and in the outdoor world, the nature of the community makes world buffs a requirement.
“If you don’t like it, don’t do it!” isn’t a fully valid argument in my opinion because you are quite literally peer pressured into having full world buffs everytime you want to participate in a raid.
Making your own raid without requiring world buffs will cause recruitment issues.
At the end of the day, the world buffs aren’t the real issue. The real issue is the hyper optimized try hard super efficient nature of most of the MMORPG community where experimental and sub optimal builds are shunned and the people enjoying those builds are being ostracised.
World buffs are killing the game and joy. What is the point of walking around the map and trying to collect 4x - 5x world buffs ? Yes, you can claim if you don’t want you don’t have to collect but you are definetly wrong. Most of the raid leaders that i encountered demands world buffs to accept you in their groups. As a solo player, getting all world buffs is almost an impossible job. Geting all buffs can be only done with dedicated raid members who are raiding all instances each week. Why i am forced by blizzard to travel STV, and wait there for hours in the hope of someone returns Hearth of hakkar ? After that, i need to go back to stormwind and i should wait for someone to return Head ? How this thing helping solo players ?
False.
STV and SW are normally posted on the realm Discords. For DMT you can look into /lfg and you will find people grouping for a clear or someone offering a cleared ID. Songflower you can solo as well DMF. If you want Rend you will need help from another player.
It is good world buffs exist so raid leaders can see the players that really put the effort, filtering out people who don’t care for a better chance of success.
You play an MMO and you are supposed to interact with others. If you want to go “solo” go ahead, nothing wrong, but face the consequences.
You are the problem, not others, not the game.
as someone who likes to minmax, i see worldbuffs as an absolute win!
then there are many more games for you, ppl that play this game like it precisely because of all the inconveniences and quirks like stacking everything on your character.
Playing an MMORPG… Maybe you’re just playing the wrong game then?
Yes, why don’t they just remove what is a big aspect for a lot of people who raid, just for YOU!
There are scheduled drops 6times a week in Era disc on ally.
Takes you 5min to get to Westfall border from SW and 10sec to hearth back.
Also if you login any day after 7-8 you wait 2min in Booty Bay you get ZG and prolly a Nef 3times an hour.
This is such a stupid post honestly, world buffs require almost 0 effort to get.
If you do not want to join pugs that want to clear efficiently, feel free to join any casual guild and wipe on MC 4hours instead kek.
