As title states. Shadow priests were the case back then. Everything was exactly about shadow and shadows. Now we have voidform, Void Bolt, Void Blact, Voidling glyph, tentacles everywhere and totally connected with Old Gods and all that void stuff.
So it seems more reasonable to be called as Void Priests. And, perhaps, sounds way more cool 
Yeah, voidpriest gameplay sucks so much they should just name it to garabage priest right away.
The new shadowfrom looks terrible, abilities feel scuffed and aren’t even shadow themed. Why is the priest flying whenever you use void eruption? It all just makes SP feel so bad to play.

So, your Mistweaver Monk should be renamed to Nature Monk?

For example your frost DK is connected to frost.
Firemage?
Arcane mage?
Frost mage?

Not entirely sure what your point here is. First you say it’s not the way it goes with all specs but then you give more examples of specs where it’s the case.
Not to mention, of the 36 specs in the game, only 7 of them actually does the same damage type as their spec is called.
The op seems to find it cooler to call it void priest because of the void bolt and void form, i think its cooler to call it shadow priest because besides 2 abilities that have the word “void” in it, everything shadow does is Shadow damage.
Now what your point is to ask me why i replied to the op?

that’s actually one thing that always bothered me as well. i just dont like it either. also some shadow spells if im gonna be picky are way to “screamy” like sylvanas crying, if you know what i mean. its like listening to emo music instead of DOOM soundtrack.

Flying? In my head the animation is your character is being hoisted up onto a cross crucifix style, kind of fitting for a priest.
It’s just the regular levitation animation, your imagination is wild.
It should be screamy. Shadow priests are supposed to be on the brink of insane. I think screams is pretty. I feel like DKs are more "DOOM soundtrack"ish than spriests
i prefer the old school shadow priest over the emo style.
YE, lore-wise Shadow priest is a mess.
Rework was successful gameplay-wise tho. I enjoy new spells and how it works.
