Render Scale still bugged (1440p)

Downscaling with render scale is still bugged and almost HALVES fps, instead of gaining it. Even lowering (or highering) renderscale by 1% greatly decreases frames. I still see people on YouTube recommending this or using it. Is it a bug tied to 1440p?

Now I like high fps and smooth, responsive gameplay (preferably in EVERY situation), but reading about how WoW is ‘greatly’ single thread tied and the spaghetti code makes the outlook pretty grim.

I like raiding and I guess what I’m saying is that in a world where raid fps is EASILY HALVED during play, it would be nice to have this extra option giving a little extra.

While renderscale is still bugged yes, even if it would work as intended it would not benefit you at all in a raid aka CPU-limited scenario since it only takes off load from the GPU (which is underutilized in raids).

Interesting… So if it only relieves GPU load why even build it in? For lower specs?

Yeah, exactly.
Most players will be CPU-limited anyways.
