So I’ve done some reading into the new updated Renown system and I felt like there was a few things missing or parts left un-explained. At least a few questions I had seem unanswered or I just wasn’t able to find them. So why not check with the community?
My dumb question is hopefully simple enough: If I grind renown up to 80 on lets say 3 out of the 4 covenants ( it’s a massive grind/endeavour ) available on a Plate user, and I then hop on an alt character who is not a plate user but use the new renown catch up you can buy for gold to get to level 40 with those same 3 covenants as I reached renown 80 on my main. Will that alt be able to switch freely between the cosmetics of those covenants or do I have to reach renown 80 for those covenants on that ALT as well?
Maybe I’m just lazy and didn’t look deep enough to find proper answer’s to all of this and the answer is quite simple. But either way I felt like it would be nice to just check if anyone had an answer to this.
Cheers in advance! (pardon the possibly poor grammar and misspelling)
Once you reach renown 80 with one covenant, you can buy the item to increase renown to 40 with any covenant of your choice, on your current character or any alt since it’s an account bound item.
I haven’t checked out cosmetics for alts so don’t know about that.
As a returning player after 2 weeks of playing my verdict is:
You can play one Class and it takes weeks to farm conduits, sockets etc. So far 9.1.5 is absolutely impossible to play alts. You need to farm Korthia with them and gather tens of thousands of research notes 24/7.
That much I got form what I have read, but I meant after I’ve gotten to 80 on my main then log on my alt and use the new 500 gold Renown catch up to level 40 on say a leather user, I get the lether armor set. And do so on the other covenants too, are they unlocked no matter what covenant I go with on my alt or are they still locked until I reach 80 renown on my alt? Though thanks for the reply
Based on what I’ve found and been reading it seems for each armor type, Plate, Mail, Leather, Cloth, you seem to need to be Renown 80 on one character for each armor type to be able to use different covenant cosmetics freely. Or at least that’s what it looks like based on what I’ve seen so far, so I’m not too sure what is true or not or how it works.
Being an alt-o-holic this is rather worrying for myself and my sanity if this is the case and I’d have to reach renown 80 roughly 4-8 times to use covenant cosmetics freely on my alts.
