Reopening the Mage Tower with Legion Timewalking in 9.1.5

Or just add them back at 0.5% drop chance after a successful run, with a daily/weekly cooldown. That could fit the SL theme, I suppose.

Well, the good thing is that at least the legendaries are no longer rng. Still better to do it sooner so that at least it has some gear when 9.1.5 lands.

If you can give that to druids then you can give that to other specs as well, all the same only with different colors. Don’t be lazy.

Btw change this disgusting color of the demon hunter set. It is known which colors suit the dh: black and purple with ofc fel green effects. I don’t want my dh to look like a druid.

Nothing, exepet that “they payed a sub during that time!” and a this point you take this reason how you want

Nonono. Don’t be so naive. Blizzard doesn’t care ONE BIT about your accomplishments. They do it to create a FOMO atmosphere, where people will stay subbed longer than they otherwise would have. Don’t kid yourself; this is simply about money.

Now that they added back unique model of bear form it’s just matter of time
we just needs to scream a little harder for them to do it
Just bring back
MOP and WOD challange modes as a feature of timewalking
scale the dungeon so it will be hard put a timer on it and let me blast.
They doing it right now with a legion m+
scaling dungeon to a CURRENT expansion gear and talents and all that
no point to play the PRESTIGIOUS items card

Sub
it’s the same with MOP and WOD challange modes

That’s the biggest thing I hate about wow forums.

it’s not a matter of needing or not to add content. It’s more why remove it, if the people that need to feel entitled to exclusive pixels pay as much per month than you and me. You paid for this content when you bought the expansion and paid for the sub. And then one fine day it gets removed because some people need to be pandered and feel special. It’s just a wrong principle. And this is coming from someone who got his skins back in the day. I still think it’s wrong.

Marketing decision, exploiting FOMO. I’d say most players don’t like it, but once it’s been done, players who felt pressured at that time to do it feel bringing rewards back would be like Blizzard lied to and exploited them.

i don’t want scream at them
but look
i was there in legion doing mage tower so i got my according to blizzard unique time limited cosmetic rewards
now i was literally F in th A by them because they just kill the prestige of one of them
that is the BEAR it’s the same model not scuffed version like order hall sets
so i’m righfully angry at them
cause they word means nothing

yes, exactly. You are exploiting FOMO over digital goods. It’s just a silly thing to do when the stock is not just going to disappear and everyone pays the same to play, and the developer already shown that he has the technology to keep this always challenging.

From our pov yes, not sure about busyness perspective. Especially if they can use it to boost MAUs before a quarter calling.

and you are one reason this game goes down the hill ^^. without new players this game would already be dead remember this words be glad that you can play this game with gamers after legion expansion and other ones.

They should have been left in the past, all of the appearances were exclusive for Legion, why they felt the need to re release one is beyond me.

Sure the bear is cool, but so are the feral forms, so why didn’t they create a legion themed version or even a mawswarn version of them.

I’m a main druid and yes I collected all of them for each spec, including the 3 alternate tints, I also did 2 of the warlock ones, but that was it … or maybe I might have done a priest one but it’s so long ago I forgot

I’m less bothered by the re-color of the bear being brought out, than I am in the fact that it’s the ONLY one they did it for, all of the weapons had a unique look to them, why are bears being singled out as the most unique ?

If there argument is that a " Wear Bear " standing on two legs with huge arms is unique compared to other weapons, how is that not said about the basic bear forms, like … it’s literally a shapeshift form, it’s totally unique compared to a sword.

The reason people complain, is because yes it looks cool and it’s exclusive, now they are getting one and if previous experience has shown us anything, it’s going to be a cake walk to get it.

Either release a re-color for each weapon or don’t release any at all, it’s that simple.

It’s not like I’m going to quit over this petty thing, but it’s frustrating trying to understand the logic behind this decision, many of the weapons look awesome, stop singling out bears, your making us look bad, like we wanted this and were the favorite class of Blizzard.

I am glad a discussion about removed content is happening here. Apparently, the majority of WoW players in this forum post as well as casuals for the most part, don’t care as much about prestige as this announcement blog suggests. What we always wanted is to have cool collectible stuff to express our hero fantasies in the design of our characters, as well as complete story and content experiences.

Both are important pillars of great RolePlay Games!

In the early days, the look of your character was defined by the accomplishments in the game. Later the customization of your character increased in variety and options.
Nowadays if you see a character in the city, it is not entirely about his accomplishments, but more about this player expressing himself as a character. With the right choice of transmog, mount and title in addition to your race appearance and name, you can create your own subtle character background story.

Prestige still does have value, but how long does it really last?
The Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent, the rarest mount in game, is not a rare sight nowadays, since dedicated mount farmers had enough time to get it finally dropped.
I think the removal of rewards only takes away the appeal of new accomplishments, they seem less valuable because those old accomplishments are artificially boosted.

I think four years, the length of two expansions, are enough for the prestige of the Mage Tower to shine. It is OK for new players to achieve these too, while the Mage Tower veterans can look forward to new challenges.
And since Legion TW reintroduced M+, how about Challenge mode for MoP and WoD TW, including those old rewards?

But it is not only the collectibles players are missing from removed content, a lot of stories from old expansions got butchered for the wrong reasons (evolving world? it is just removed content in a world that still remains static). Especially the Legendary questlines from MoP and WoD, which are main stories, two more main stories from MoP (Golden Lotus, Barrens), many smaller but still interesting questlines, as well as stories from Pre-Events.

New players get thrown into an incomplete leveling experience (even the recent BfA). For players like me who love the lore, replaying the story would add value (e.g. a different perspective through story developments), but we have to put the pieces back together ourselves if possible.

Reintroducing the mage tower at least in Timewalking is a great first step to undo these mistakes. After all these conclude existing storylines in game that even sometimes tie into the main story (Skovald’s daughter, …).

Don’t get me wrong: Raids, M+ and PvP is great content for those who like a challenge. They fulfill the MMO part of the game. But what about the RPG part? World content is just busy-work that should not be mandatory, story presentation does not even scratch the surface of what you actually want to tell.

Blizzards main philosophy is “gameplay first”, this worked great with the old RTS games and Diablo, those had great uncompromised gameplay, but still great stories and meaningful content. But for some reason, gameplay is wrongfully confused with progression in WoW. In an RPG, progression may be the game mechanics, but the actual gameplay is how we choose to play our characters.
Please consider how it feels to play a game and see your philosophy more as “gameplay and fun first”.

The progression in WoW is so very much streamlined, that players only see the goal in front of them, which breaks the immersion and feeling of playing a character in a fantasy world. As a result, the analytical mind makes issues and repetitiveness more apparent and we loose motivation.
Instead, players look for alternatives and recently there is major competition of MMOs with actual RPG content, such as New World or FF14.
But don’t see those as a threat, see them as a chance. Hire more devs to create more and better WoW RPG content to keep WoW a great franchise that stays relevant for players and financially.

I am happy that you work on this really nice early Christmas present patch, but in the long run, i think THE WOW TEAM HAS TO REEVALUATE THE GAME AND CONSIDER A DIFFERENT APPROACH!

A dedicated RPG team could add more content and improvements such as:

  • Evergreen content (old world sandbox, dynamic PvE battle events, warmode questlines/scenarios with multiple objectives, housing, profession questlines to build projects, …)
  • A better level revamp (scaling for 1-5 player groups in world/scenarios/dungeons, prestige leveling at max level, graphics remaster, more voiceacting and talking heads, modern quest mechanics and campaign mode, removed questlines and endgame content as well as 1-10 player/npc-bot raid scenarios reintroduced for leveling)
  • More RPG systems (A proper dialog system to find out more about the NPCs motivations, Return of ammo etc. as optional buffs rather than resource, Class Trainers relevant again with proper class tutorials (interrupts, etc.))

So people got what they wanted, but at the same time not?

I’m personally not interested in any of those rewards, the older ones look better.

Nothing is diminished if they did that.

How hard to understand that? People wanted skins from mage tower - that’s the reason they miss tower so much.

Always freaking twisted rewards - no wonder why you getting backlash so much recently.

Also is it short term event or every timewalking legion rotational week?
