In my opinion, the biggest problem with reputation in retail is the rewards, which are, to put it mildly, really weak.
Take for example the new rep “Flame’s Radiance”… When I look at those rewards, I honestly feel like laughing.
There’s no real “carrot on a stick”—just some crystals, a pet, or a title? A reskinned mount?
Why not offer something exciting that would actually make people want to do the dailies?
Something like rare recipes, high ilvl gear, or glyphs that change the visual effects of hero talents—so, for instance, a goblin hunter could drop grenades instead of summoning an eagle.
You could really sit down and come up with cool ideas… but instead, we get this…
I have absolutely no motivation to grind this rep. Someone might say it’s optional and I don’t have to do it… but honestly, you could say that about everything.
The real problem is that the incentive is just incredibly weak.
New models are for the shop or new raids, can’t expect blizzard to put effort into casual content, have you learnt nothing?
The transmogs off Flame’s Radiance are brilliant looking though.
Some of the rewards are cool imo, especially things like the mechano t-rex.
I do like the idea of changing abilities looks though. I wish they’d do a small patch on making a bunch of cosmetic glyphs. If they put them behind renowned though, some people would probably complain. But you can’t please everyone I guess.
Because in that case the part of the playerbase that only wants to do instanced content (and which aren’t a minority) would complain about being forced to do faceroll content they hate to acquire something they like.
This… i feel like this is spot on about the mentality of players haha
