Replace the dungeon pool for each timewalking event

It’s been almost a decade since timewalking was added to the game as a concept, and in that time the feature has been expanding vertically to create a bigger rotation of expansions. The feature launched with TBC, Wrath, Cata and Pandaria dungeons and those expansions have seen minimal changes in that time.

In Shadowlands we saw a decent shakeup of those dungeons but Blizzard’s tools for scaling have improved dramatically during later part of shadowlands and dragonflight, as evidenced by their philosophy to M+ dungeons.

I would love to see another shakeup to M+ in War Within or very soon. Some dungeons have gotten 0 love since launch and are relegated to obscurity, Classic deserves some representation in the dungeon pool too. Many new players are never seeing these dungeons as they’re coralled into BFA or Dragonflight dungeons.

My proposal:

Classic - Blackrock Depths (Upper City), Lower Blackrock Spire, Maraudon (Wicked Grotto), Dire Maul North, Stratholme Undead and Zul’Farrak.

I wanted to avoid the fan favourites that levelers always hit, any expansion reworked editions or dungeons currently raidable in SoD. Many of these dungeons are in such bad level brackets that levelers will literally never see them.

TBC - Auchenia Crypts, Hellfire Ramparts, Old Hillsbrad, Shadow Labrynth, The Mechanar and The Steamvault.

Some of these TBC dungeons just need some love, especially those last 3. The level requirements to get in mean that if you’re using chromie time you’re unlikely to actually see them much. Ramparts is just such a smooth, excellent dungeon it needs a revisit.

Wrath - Drak’Tharon Keep, Halls of Reflection, Halls of Stone, Culling of Stratholme, Trial of the Champions and The Oculus.

Just haven’t seen these dungeons yet. Trial of the Champions is insanely underutilised during Chromie Time.

Cataclysm - Deadmines, Hour of Twilight, Shadowfang Keep, Well of Eternity, Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub.

The cata reworked dungeons deserve some love I think, as do the 4.3 dungeons we have yet to see.

Pandaria - Gate of the Setting Sun, Mogu’shan Palace, Scarlett Halls, Scarlet Monastery, Scholomance, Shadopan Monastery.

Scarlet Dungeons deserve some love and honestly, screw Siege of Niuzao Temple and Stormstout Brewery, those dungeons have some much slow, boring RP after the 50th run.

Warlords of Draenor - Auchindoun, Bloodmaul Slagmines, Grimrail Depot, Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, Skyreach and Upper Blackrock Spire.

Honestly this list is kind of arbitrary but I think swapping out Everbloom for UBRS is deserved. UBRS was so hyped up as a reworked dungeon and is literally never seen by any players after Warlords of Draenor.

Legion - Cathedral of Eternal Night, Eye of Azshara, Maw of Souls, Upper Karazhan, Seat of the Triumvirate and The Arcway.

Remove all the dungeons we’ve seen in M+ this season. Karazhan, Cathedral and SotT all deserve to be experienced more as patch dungeons.

BFA - King’s Rest, Operation Mechagon (City), Shrine of the Storms, Temple of Sethraliss, The MOTHERLODE!! and Tol Dagor.

These are my picks for the next set of timewalking dungeons likely to come during a War Within .5 patch.
