Reporting a /whisper?

Someone whispers me " *** ** ***** ****" < A very offensive messages.
I right click they name and i get the options of:
-Move to a whisper window
-Target
-Invite
-Whisper
-Ignore

Do i need to make a reddit post to report someone who is harrasing me? Do i get in trouble for reporting a harasser or a racist from ingame wow chat? Why can’t i report some messages, but the some messages i can ? What is going on ?

Sample1 from week ago:
Rogue trolling Ring Of Blood, he pulled every mob nearby and kited them when we were fighting the bosses. (Griefing) I managed to Click on his port before he vanished and whisper him " Why you troll?"
Rogue went “What :)”.
At this point, i was left only with this /w message on my chat.
Still when i right click rogues name on chat, there is no report option Just the options above.

Sample2: ******** stuff on my /Whisper chat. No option to report. Just the options above. Why ?

Sample3: Literally every chat message that i can’t do anything about.

Please just let me know how do i do this correct. Do i need to report on Reddit or Facebook ? Wow Forums ? How does this work exactly?

Edit: TBC classic

You can find the player in the /who menu and from that menu, you will have the option to report the player, if they are violating anything ofc.

/Who does people in my area. What if they not in my area, Or they log out ?

Go in the /who window manually and input the players character name, you will find only that 1 player in the list of players and when right clicking from this menu, you have other options than you do from the chat window.

I can’t type they wierd names *^`?==!="!# etc… And is this really the only good option you’re suggesting? Really ?

Chill Karen, it’s the only way I know how to do it, you’re welcome for at least that option… And shift click his name in taking it from the chat window…

Sorry and thank you. Im Karen BTW. Shift Click on chati get a message on chat about the character level, name and guild in yellow.

If I shift click anyones name in chat, while I have the “Who List” open, they appear in the list and I can then right click them in the list for the report option.
Idk it works for me, thats prolly the best I can help you

Ok thank you for the tip. I need to try that next time and be very fast.

It works for me too, you can test with any player, and no need to be fast, use the arrows and scrool back through your chat window.
I too have met un-report-able players.
I did whisper them, then I could click thie name where I whispered them and report

So If someone who is not familiar with these wierd things you guys are suggesting, They have no idea how to report people? And sorry again, Im glad you you know how to do it, but why it must be this hard ?

I don’t know why it’s so hard. I fumbled through it many times before finding out how to do it : Hope you will learn.

But 99% of people playing this game don’t visit these forums to learn how to do a simple task like reporting a racist message in chat in Activision Blizzard games

As I said, I did not either, I learned by trial and error - It’s not obvious how to do. Blame Blizz, not me.

I am blaming Activision Blizzard. And thats why i made this post. Thank you for helping Vanillataur. This system is so flawed. Why does it still exist? Why can’t we report people ?

Some of the report options disappear when you are too “slow”, but through /who you can report them at any time …

Also while posting names on forum is illegal, you can still open ticket and report them, especially if you have screens …

Im in shatt and someone starts to harras me from Durotar at level 9. When i type /Who. How does this help me? Do i get they name where i can click the report option ?

You have to type the name after /who
For example /who Konjakke

Or you can press O where you will find a tab named ‘Who’
There you type his name. Should be shown if they are still online

You can either search for the name directly through who …

Or you can shift+click on them in chat, and it will automatically put their name into the “Who window” and there you can right click on them …

You can also shift+click their name into your open chat window (as if you were posting item or quest into chat) and simply select their name and ctr+c/v it … in case they have some dummy letters noone can write …
