I got some abuse in LFR (I tried to explain how tank Dimensius while playing my hunter). I don’t mind being abused, please my skin isn’t that thin, but I did not appreciate the punching down on minority groups by this kid.
He started off calling me a huntard, but when he didn’t get any purchase with this low level stuff he called me autistic as an insult. He quickly moved to gay and finally transgender huntard when I put him on ignore. I know how to report people normal: right click target portrait or name in chat and and select Report Player. As I said to this kid I don’t have any issue with being called autistic, gay, trans etc., I do object to using these as insults.
Is there a retrospective method in game, or at the Blizzard website to report players, or have I missed my chance?
As far as I know you have to report him in-game by right-clicking his portrait or name in chat.
Alternatively you can open a ticket, if you have his name and realm, and report harassment. I don’t recomend this because the chances of your ticket being read by a human are low. You will get an AI response that will tell you to report by right-clicking their name.
You are correct. They can open a ticket but it’s not the same as a report. For extreme cases though (death threats, ongoing harassment), you should contact costumer support directly.
This is literally the templated professional response they use for similar questions. Blizzard doesn’t use AI in their answer templates lol. During very high queue times it is possible to receive automatic replies directing to lets say, common causes and issues but the ticket can still be opened if GM assistance is required.
In my personal experience despite being offered direction by either me, other players or Blizzard some may choose to ignore it claiming it is “AI/robot/automated” even after second opinions being given the correct answer.
As Shinnyhorn have said reports are only through the right click window bar several categories.

Completely agree mate. However, you’ve got to draw a line somewhere. I invite people to queue up to abuse me: “Is that your DPS or your shoe size?”, “Have you still got the box your PC came in?”, “You’re worst player EU!” I’ve had some fun and laughter with the creativity of insults in LFR.
Then there’s abusing whole groups of people who are frequently bullied and abused just for being who they are. People who are nothing to do with my arguments with a tank. That’s over the line. Reporting them, even if they get a couple of weeks banned, doesn’t do much…but it does rearrange the deckchairs on my bit of the Titanic.
This is pretty much it, I usually just reply “Do you know what any of those words actually mean or did you just learn them today after putting down your crayons and Peppa Pig colouring book?”
Or my personal favourite I saw once
“I’m sorry my boy but Ive had better insults from my kid and he’s only 2”
This is why I said we really have issues with toxic people and if someone say its part of game its approving this kind of behavior. I can tolerate a lot toxic ppl but can other people!?
I think u can report him in chat by clicking on his name right mouse im not sure 100%
Real life is enough that u need to have tick skin even there is not normal to say someone that but at least in game that should be relaxing place to be toxic free. i really dont want wow to become League of Legends when it comes to toxicity.
I know, I know, just started think from seeing you mentioning real life, how there is sort of online behaviour for some people spend their times being complete different person online anonymously and annoying other people when we know for fact that half of them wouldnt say nothing to anyone if it werent from behind some monitor. Not that I think its cool to go around insulting people in first place for no reason, I think its just dumb.
I dont want to insult people here but most ones who plays wow have some personal issues and then find relaxing on trashing random player in game xD Or they never feel loved lol
I dont feel insulted actually make me gigle because once I told her she is acting as Merkat and have some similarity was joke ofc but for her idk was for her not sure anymore xDD
