[Just posting this here on the EU forums for MVQ, to help them gain visibility on these important issues, as DH is in a bad place right now for TWW]

'For the people who don’t know me, I’ve been the highest rated DH in every single season since Shadowlands, reaching the number 1 ladder spot almost every season in 3s.

I’ve played Beta a ton, and done a lot of 3v3 wargames into Echo (Whaazz team), and I can say with confidence that DH is completely awful currently in PvP.

The issue lies in the amount of GCDs Aldrachi (AR) needs to do damage. The damage profile currently is all about “ramping”. This is perfect and probably FUN for PvE. However, in PvP a simple CC will cancel out all the ramping.
This isn’t necessarily bad, since ramp kits historically have been viable in PvP (Fury Warrior for instance), however the DH ramp takes way too long, and your “payoff” window is too short.

Fel Scarred feels slightly better, however the Demonsurge damage is delayed which feels horrible in PvP. Any empowered ability will have no value into a class that kites you. Imagine a Mage with a WeakAura that alerts them when Demonsurge is about to go off, and they press Blink or Knock every single time. And yes that is going to happen.

This is all to say that the issue with DH in PvP isn’t our numbers. It’s the kit. So here’s some suggestions:

  • Reaver’s Glaive off GCD. This would assist with the amount of globals required to play AR.
  • Essence Break MUCH stronger. Our class does nothing without ramp, this would atleast give us some damage if we are being shutdown, at the cost of using Essence Break without the buffs from the ramp.
  • Demonsurge Damage goes off immediately. Not realistic since the animation wouldn’t match the damage, but I’m putting the suggestion here anyway.
  • Thrill of the Fight duration increased to 20 seconds, up from 10 seconds, in PvP combat. The payoff window for the ramp is simply too short in PvP. A single CC shouldn’t counter 9 globals (6 Souls is minimum 6 globals without using CDs → Reaver’s Glaive → Blade Dance → Chaos Strike = 9 globals)
  • New PvP talents, or bring back old ones.
  • Fix Isolated Prey not buffing Eye Beam damage. This is a bug.
  • Fix Reaver’s Glaive GCD not benefitting from Haste. This is a bug.

Those are all of my realistic suggestions that would nudge DH in the right direction, without making them overpowered.

DH has fallen from S and A class in arenas and BGs to B class everywhere…the damage feels irrelevant, no one is scared of a dh anymore, the burst window is small and not rewarding. Awful class balance from Blizz is obvious here
