Reputation bonus is a joke?

I am not sure if this is the correct section of the forum to post about this topic, but taken in consideration that reputation gain is also linked to achievments, i decided to post here. So, without any further adue, lets begin:
Weekly reputation bonus event- a complete joke and mockery. You do a elite world quest in Legion maps, you get 550 rep. You do a elite world quest in BFA, you get the same rep as it would be without bonus : 115-135 rep. Why Blizzard? 99,9% of player are already exalted with all BFA factions and the only reason we still grind reputation is for the pets and toys received from paragon chests. Why you try to make our life as harder possible? Everything in this game it seems slowed on purpose. But this isnt a “normal” slow. Its a slow 3x times slower made in purpose. Its like you want to fool us to keep our subcription active by giving us a drops of content, slowly, so that time passes. Why? Why? Why?

I don’t think the base amounts have changed much. Legion WQ gave varying amounts of rep. Most gave 75 or 150 (just like BFA ones do) although the “Danger: target” ones and some bosses gave a bit more.

The main difference in speed at which you can farm rep through WQs now, comes from being able to fly and oneshot mobs in Legion zones, which is a side-effect of it being legacy content now.

Farming rep in BFA is quite a breeze really. I don’t recall it being faster in any of the earlier expansions. Add to that the fact that there are only 6 factions so far, and i really fail to see what you’re complaining about.

I was exalted with all factions in less than a month after BfA’s release, without really going out of my way for it. It’s only gotten easier/faster since then.

World Quests themselves really aren’t (and never were) the primary source of reputation, making it even more of a moot point in my experience. For most of us, the regular quest campaigns and the emissaries account for a much higher percentage of the reputation gained.

I don’t know which of the factions specifically you’re concerned about, but Tortollan is the only one that does rely a bit more on doing their WQ than the others. But their WQ are abundant and among the easiest/quickest to complete imo.

That makes no sense. First of all, most people really don’t care about reputations at all, and out of those who do, most only care about it on their main.
Unless someone only just started playing, their main is already exalted so i fail to see how that would have any effect at all on subscriptions.

This would be the least effective way of rentseeking ever.

To you.
You had a HC raid loot 2 weeks ago, it rotates the same way it did in legion. just ignore it? i did not bother last week because i don’t get anything off of 10 arena skirmish aside from conquest which isn’t worth my time since i can easily get the same amount from one bg win

2.5k AP + 5k gold + 500 WR is still something. I’m already pilling on paragon chest (to a limit i know). because my neck level is already 50

Now you just seem unsatisfied with the game, maybe take a break ?

In Legion, during the expansion, while the rep boost event was active, you where receiving more reputation. A normal blue quest was giving back then 200-250 rep and a “danger elite” quest was giving around 300-350 rep. That was happening while Legion expansion was still active.
A BFA normal blue quest gives the same ammount of rep as a “danger elite” quest, around 100-150 rep, also same ammount during rep boost event. Basically, the rep boost event it seems that applies only on Legion zone.

Is not. In BFA you can make enough rep for a paragon chest in between 1 and 2 weeks. In Legion, especially with rep boost, you can make even 2 chests/week.

I dont talk here about rep progress. Obviously after so much time since the expansion started, i am already exalted. I talk about farming paragon chests. Its very slow. You can make a chest/week only with honorbounds if you do all active events (wq, invasions). The other factions are hard to farm, one chest every 2-3 weeks. Thats slow. So i was expecting at least the rep boost event to boost my rep to farm faster. Thats the ideea.

What has to do HC loot with reputation gain and paragon chests? Explain me the logic? We talk about rep, not loot.

For me is not. 5k gold i farm passively by doing content. WR are irrelevant, i got 20k+ and i spend daily 200-300 and recover 300-400 or more. AP i dont need, finished neck 3 months ago. The only thing i care are the paragon chests that drop the toys and pets.
So with this argument you failed again as with the previous one regarding HC loot.

I am unsatisfied by people like you, who think that they are smart enough to give advices. Maby you take a break, dont comment anymore and leave me in peace. Anyway, everything you said here was not constructive, even more , created more frustration and anger.

Dude i’m legit telling you if you’re unsatisfied then take a break for now and then come back, what i mean is there is a lot of other games that might be better (to you) comment.

This is a forum, last i checked and I’m still drop and comment ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, yea you didn’t mention that.

But then i would say, first off, you aren’t the target audience for this weekly anyway. It is more for the people who either started late (or who play very casually), or for people who want to get their alts revered for recipes or the like.

Almost nobody likes all the weekly bonus events, many people either don’t care at all for the Pet Battle one, or the PvP ones (BG or Arena), or … I guess in your case it could be the reputation one.

Also, there are so many other relevant factors when using this “problem” to compare BfA and Legion, that i don’t really think there is much value in it.
Legion didn’t even have paragon rewards throughout all of 7.0 and 7.1 for one (it was added in 7.2).
Also Legion effectively had like 20 reputations to max out, whereas BfA (to date) only has 6.
Also in Legion those paragons didn’t give nearly as much gold as in BfA, less than 1k iirc.
Also in Legion the paragon boxes served an extra function as contributing substantially to the legendary drops.
I could go on but you get the point, they’re different expansions so there are many differences.

Well, it’s subjective of course, but I don’t think that’s all that slow at all. That’s like 15 paragons a month using your own metrics, which can amount to 75k a month per character just from the paragon boxes (again, using your metrics). Add to that the gold gained from those world quests themselves, and from vendoring the gear rewards, and we’re talking about a very juicy cashcow.

Soon you’ll also have access to flying mounts, which massively reduces the amount of work it is to do a lot of WQ. That makes that amount of gold even more impressive, if you compare it to the relatively little amount of playtime it requires.

.

My personal point of view: it says it gives +50% and it does just that. So every rep grind goes 1.5x as fast as it does during other weeks. Simple, straightforward and not wasted on anyone. New/supercasual players get towards exalted 1.5x as fast, more hardcore players get towards their paragon box 1.5x as fast and even people completely unaware of the event still silently benefit. Can’t think of a more perfectly designed system really, and 150% is nothing to sneeze at.
