Heya. As in the title - Reputation earning and overall farming in Dragonflight feels very underwhelming and painful compared to literally every expansion since Legion to Shadowlands.
Back then we generally had world quests which rewarded varied reputation amount, but way more than 50 reputation as we get now. For example in Legion if I wanted to farm Highmountain reputation I just went to one zone and farmed world quests daily. Some gave less rep, some gave more - Now all world quests give only 50 rep.
Back then if I wanted a specific reputation raise I just went to one specific zone and was able to focus on those 10 world quests per day. Now if I want to farm Valdrakken rep I have to fly across ALL Dragonflight zones and do 30 world quests, since there’s so many of them and all of them give 50 reputation with the exception for those that give little bonuses.
No. The weekly world quests which give reputation don’t balance things out xD They just force us to sub for more weeks. More weeks of farming, more months of subs, more money for Blizzard. Obviously that happens in almost all MMORPGs, but that’s not the point at all. This game had a decent reputation farming system in Legion, decent in BfA. Now I have to just farm so many world quests for so little or wait week after week for special quests or rare WQs. This is a joke. It’s just demotivating and makes people play less in the end, so there’s that.
There’s no efficient way of farming reputations. The evens such as tuskar soup or maruk hunt reward very little reputation and those events have to be waited for too. There’s no way to constantly do something for an hour everyday - That has been stretched in this expansion.
WQs haven’t given good rep for a long time. They mitigated this a little with daily Emissaries.
Back in MOP you did 6 - 8 dailies in one area and earnt around 2000 rep in 25 mins, so about 3 weeks of dailies would take you 0 to Exalted.
But since around Legion they’ve loaded large chunks of rep into Emissaries or World Events. So you can’t just concentrate on one faction and be done with it in 3 weeks. You have to spend months doing these large rep gainers
At some point we also got rep for just killing mobs. So if someone was done with their dailies, they could just go to certain areas and wipe them clean. It required a bit of endurance of monotony but if someone wanted to hit exalted faster, they could, if they put the time into it. Then they were able to go and do other things.
Hence I did them, but the campaign quests are limited and I have no more to do.
I really miss it nowadays as I’m forced to do so many varied activities and then am forced to wait a day or a week just to continue farming rep of one faction.
And that was fair play to me. 3 weeks for one reputation from 0 to Exalted sounds alright. Meanwhile let’s calculate Dragonflight reputation farms. Oh dear, several months to get them all. And that too needs a lot of time and calculating every moment in game and of course some objectives that reward rep have to be waited for more than a day.
Indeed! Apparently not just I am bothered by that.
Hey, actually that’s a good idea. Thanks. I just checked this addon’s description and it seems perfect. It reminds me of how Wholly and Grail worked. I just had them installed to know which additional quests I haven’t done, but those addons are rarely updated and besides seems like this BTW has better interface. Will try, thanks again.
“Laugh in ogri’la”.
On a more serious note i find very annoyin the alts rep management. yes there is the buff but having a lot of alts with different professions, in order to buy recipes to max all the professions ill have to wait TWW and global rep to finish all of them.
Forcing professions behind rep is bad.
There was a time when I really wanted to have all professions maxed out on my top alts. Then I realised that a lot of recipes were acquired from factions, which required high reputation to gain them. Managing alts and maximising the achievements sure is hard.
